"The class is dismissed and everyone submit the notebook to the class monitor" The teacher called and left the class after instructing Jihye to bring the copies in the staff room.
Jihye walked towards each seat taking the notebooks from everyone and writing those names who didn't submitted.
She finally reached the window seat at the corner of the class looking at the boy debating whether to wake the sleeping figure up or not.
"Hey"
She called out slowly but that didn't had any effect on the person's demeanor."Haechan" Jihye called again shaking the boy a little as he flinched and lifted his head up with wide eyes which softened after looking that it's just Jihye.
"Are you ok?" She asked and the boy nodded running his hands in his hair before a yawn escaped his mouth.
"Why are you here?" He asked and Jihye surely can see the dark circles and eyes bags under his beautiful eyes.
His tired face and wrinkled school uniform made the girl wonder what happened that changed his bubbly and lively nature to a silent and unfocused one.
"Your English homework" she said pointing back at the teacher's desk where the pile of notebooks were kept and that's when it hit Haechan that he didn't completed the homework.
Hell he didn't even opened the bag after reaching home.He sighed and looked around at the class which were busy fooling around and talking to themselves not paying much attention to him and the girl who was still standing infront of him with hands forwarded out to take the notebook.
"Well I haven't completed my homework" he said slowly blinking his eyes to shoo away the tiredness enveloping them.
"As expected" Jihye stated but didn't removed her hands making Haechan look at her with soft but questioning gaze.
"Do you have your English notebook with you?" She asked and the boy nodded confused and then shuffled in his bag and luckily found it.
Jihye took it and walked away after shuffling the papers around the copy nodding to herself.
"Wait where are you taking it?" He asked little scared that she's going to complain about him.
Jihye turned around and looked at him with a small smile."From now I am making sure to have a count of how much time you have to repay me back Lee, make sure to award me nicely"
She left towards the teacher's table, holding all the notebooks in her grip and trailed out of the class to the staff room.Haechan was confused with her words but soon shrugged it off since his head hurts like hell and he didn't want to think much, not about anyone at the moment since his mind is clouded by his sister's memory.
Jihye submitted the copies and bowed a little to the teacher who smiled back.
"Jihye, you are literally acing all the subjects I see" She stated making the girl mutter a small thank you towards the elder.
"Park Jihye right? I have heard a lot about you"
Another teacher joined and soon the staff room become the praising area where the girl stood quite silent firstly because of the attention she was getting - which she was use to.
And secondly the amount of trust, responsibility and expectations the teachers have from her.
Sometimes she's scared what if she isn't able to stand up on those expectations of her teachers and parents on her.
What if she fails?
Will they talk bad about her?
Will they leave her?
Will they start judging her?Jihye was sure enough to atleast determine this much till now is that 'only those person who have respect, power and status in society are considered as successful and not a failure'.
Her family had built her from start since childhood not to lose from anyone and she still remembers how her father looked at her when she got beated in scores by Jaemin once in her lifetime which almost made her go in the depth of depression because of the amount of scoldings and mean things he said to her.
The look she feared the most in her life was given to her by her father on that particular day- a look of getting rejected and shame.
She never wants to face the cruel reality so she tried and still trying her best to do what her parents wants her to do.
She read a quote in her childhood, 'parents are the building block of their kids life' and she thinks or well thought till now that whatever her parents say or ask her to do, they are always right.
She got ranks which comes with gifts, appreciations, proud and happy faces of her parents. Getting trophies in sports made her feel she's good in everything.
The parents whose dreams Jihye thought were wishes they wished for their daughter to make true now turned into a pressurized and forced decision for her.
The girl who was happy and passionate to make her family proud of herself was now forced to do so.
Jihye still gets good scores and top ranks followed by tons of medals, certificates and trophies in sports, debates and even in Olympiads but the feelings changed now.
Her parents gets happy to see her getting awarded but they failed to notice the amount of sleepless nights, the amount of time the girl skipped the meal so as so memorise chemical formulas and the amount of time she cried telling herself in the mirror that she can't do it anymore.
Everyone knows about the strict, beautiful, hard working captain, an all rounder gem of the school and a tag of perfect daughter for her parents but no one has noticed, not a single one, not even her own brother and not even the closest person to her after her brother she has- Na Jaemin, that how much broken and exhausted she's from inside.
Spending sleepless nights on studies, assignments and checking on the mails, taking pills to sleep and avoiding herself from deep thinking about her life by distracting herself from other activities has made the girl tired.
But did someone noticed? No they didn't.
The girl who's comforting everyone around her with her positive thoughts and aura in public is already drop down dead by inside and needs someone to hold her.
Hold her and ask if she is ok, and when she says yes, the person shakes their head and pull her in an embrace saying no she's not and he or she is here for her to lean on and take some rest from this fast forward and judging world.
And this is not only the story and words written of Jihye's life,
but tons of people reading this and some out, are still suffering from the tag of becoming a 'perfect son or daughter' for their parents,
who have neglected their own child's happiness and health or maybe struggling to stand in this cruel judging society followed by tons of haters who are always ready to spread shits about you.
Some deep thoughts 💭😔
