Melissa walked through the double doors of the hospital. She tried to keep calm and not panic after Harry's call. She needed to keep the faith. Evans would pull through. He always did. He was a superhero and did amazing things. He saved her life and took care of her on various occasions, if anyone deserved to live to see another day it was Chris Evans.

Melissa turned to the reception desk, trying to keep her nerves down. The nurse looked at her with kindness and a smile, saying:

"How can I help?"

"I am looking for someone. DCI Evans. Brought in about three hours ago, I believe."

"He was one of the agents in the shooting?"

"Yes. Yes, he was."

The nurse typed away on her computer, finding Evans's information.

"Are you a friend or family?" Melissa opened her mouth, but no words came out. She was married to Evans and had been for a few years now, however, she had never uttered those words. It was as if the world knew they were married, the sirens would break out and she would be put in handcuffs. "Ma'am"?

"Erm..." Melissa took a deep breath in and thought bugger all. Evans needed her. "Yes. Wife."

"May I have your name?"

"Marianna Henderson."

"ID, please..."

Melissa rummaged through her purse and grabbed her fake ID. It was a rare occasion for her to leave that little town by the beach or use her fake ID, but Evans was worth it. He was worth everything.

The woman took a quick gander around, as the nurse checked her ID. Melissa counted a few police officers and security guards - trying to avoid their gaze, in fear of one look and they might book her right there and then. After all, her warrant was international and there was a prize on her head.

As she searched the crowd, she found Harry making his way to her. Immediately, her heart settled upon seeing a familiar face.

"Harry."

"Hi..." He responded. Harry took her in a tight hug, keeping her close. Melissa tried her best not to break down, holding firm. "When did you get here?"

"Just...Just now..." Melissa responded, wiping her tears. She noticed that her friend had a sticker glued to his shirt that read 'visitor.' "Have you seen him?"

"Not yet," Harry responded. "We're waiting."

Melissa took a deep breath in, with a hand on her stomach. She held Harry's hand tightly.

"Tell me, he's going to be okay."

"He's going to be okay. He's the strongest man I know."

The nurse called her, giving back her ID and a sticker with her name on it. Harry grabbed the sticker that said visitor and glued it to Melissa's coat, then never letting go of her hand, they walked towards the third floor.

Melissa clutched the ring around her neck between her fingers, trying to keep calm for Evans's sake. He would be. He had to be fine. The life of her love could not die like this.

The elevator doors opened to a quiet floor. With rooms on each side, Melissa peeked in seeing empty beds on either side. No sign of Evans, which, in the worst-case scenario, was a good thing.

Coming to the waiting room, she spotted Zayn who sat in the waiting room. However, her attention didn't linger on him for long, as the room was full of agents and police officers all in support of Evans.

Some had bruises, there was one with an arm strapped to his chest and another with a head bandage. Immediately, Melissa turned around before her presence was seen by any of them.
