Marley 5 years earlier

"Marley, god damnit! Pay attention child." my instructor, Zane, cursed at me once again.

I looked upright and shot the sturdy man in front of me a nasty glare as anger vibrated through my body, "I am paying attention." I hissed,

"Then why was I able to hit you?" his brown eyes flashed at me.

I shrugged.

Zane huffed, his muscular chest heaving a few times before he leaned down and set his red boxing gloves onto the blue matted floor. He took a few steps towards me, arms extended to show he meant no threat. I forced myself to relax as he gently covered my gloved hands, moving my arms forward in a precise motion, "That's how you should do it," he explained.

"Like this?" I questioned, giving him no room to move as I swung my arm forward and hooking it upwards at the last second. A loud crack echoed throughout the room as my gloved fist connected with his nose. Warm sticky blood gushed all over the two of us.

Zane threw his head back and laughed despite the fact he now most likely had a broken nose. "Exactly babe." he said pridefully, blood dripping down and into his moth.

I could't help but smirk.

"We're done for today, I'm going to clean this bitch up." he referenced to his nose before padding quietly out of the gym.

I continued my self-glory for a few more moments as I took off my gloves and started to rinse the blood off them in the water fountain behind me. I scrubbed them until they were clean and then laid them out on the brown bench beside that to dry.

Confused yet? Let me explain.

I was a member of the Wolves. We were the largest and most dangerous gang in this half of the United States. When I was little my parents threw me out onto the streets. I wandered homeless for a few days before I was picked up by a man who looked pretty sketchy. Turned out this sketchy man happened to be the nicest and most fatherly person i've ever dealt with and he also was the leader of the Wolves. His name was Jeremy.

The Wolves took me in as one of there own. I was raised by them, fed by them, and even taught by them. Our gang was run similar to how a pack of wolves run. We had our omegas, our beta, a pack trainer (Zane), our doctor, an alpha (Jeremy), and warriors like myself.

I couldn't imagine a better life.

"Marley?" Zane's voice drew me back into reality. I glanced up to see that he had showered, his blonde hair was darkened and slicked back, beads of water dripping down his still mostly wet body.

"Yeah?"

"Ready to go?"

I nodded, stood up, and gathered my things.

Not even thirty minutes later, Zane and I arrived home. He pulled the keys out of the ignition to his red F-350 and got out of the truck. I followed suit.

We padded down the familiar stone path, approaching a large house. The house was more of a mansion, it contained most of the members of our gang. It was a beautiful brick five story house nestled 15 acres deep into the woods. Large windows allowed plenty of sunlight to illuminate the house while other portions of the house were completely barren. The house was a dark red, it was 26 bedrooms, 30 bathrooms, three dinning rooms, a pool, basketball court, gym, and my favorite part was the huge kitchen! I don't know how Jeremy had the money to own this place, but it had never been my business to ask.

My old worn out converse squeaked against the glistening cherrywood floor as I followed Zane inside. We walked in silence, our footsteps barely hearable, making our way to the kitchen.

I spotted a familiar large man standing against the fridge and I dropped my boxing gloves, darting forward and hugging him.

"Hi trouble." Jeremy's voice rumbled as he hugged me close, "How was training?"

"I broke Zane's nose!" I squealed into his chest. He laughed, his body shaking mine as he did so. Jeremy set me back down and patted the top of my head, "You're becoming one of my best fighters." He informed me with pride glistening in his large blue eyes.

"I have room for improvement," I snorted, stepping back. Jeremy frowned at me,

"We all do."

I shrugged suddenly feeling uncomfortable, "I'll be up in my room," I murmured, brushing past my Alpha and making my way towards the stairs.

Once I was inside my bedroom I let my knees buckle as exhaustion tore it's way through my body. I had been training every day and secretly every night to get better at fighting yet I still wasn't the best in Jeremy's eyes. I had to be the best!

I crawled towards my queen sized bed and without bothering to change or even get under the covers, I passed out into a much needed, deep sleep.
