Chapter 3

We started to move in the direction of the school's entrance. I was quite anxious. Jason and I both attended this school; in retrospect, we've been through everything together. I was happy to have someone like him when we were in school.

advancing inside I was immediately welcomed by the loud music and the brightly lit environment.

Isn't it thrilling? We were all small and had squeaky voices like mice the last time we met these people, he added.
I laughed while giggling at his face.

"I believe that voice was unique to you, Jason." He shook his head as he scowled at me.

"That's ridiculous, remember Jake? He remarks loudly as we proceed to the bar, "His voice was incredibly high pitched for a boy.

"Can't you be any louder?" I questioned him while arching my brow.

"Oh, I can do that. Particularly in bed," chuckles Jason.

My face became quite red. I struck him in the back of the head.
I stifled a "pervert" in my voice.

"Your reaction was worthwhile; you look like a tomato!"

I gave him a stern look before tsking. I mumbled, "you're impossible," as I turned to face the dance floor.

"May I have this dance, M'lady?" Jason asks, extending his hand. He asks while dramatically bending down.

I gracefully answered, "Oh why ofcourse," while maintaining my hand on his.
We made our way to the dance floor while making each other giggle.

Aubrey clings to his elbow to prevent losing his grip on her. The strong contour of his face captures her attention in the disco lamps' colourful glow.

'Do you feel okay?' jason mouths to her.

She nods as she tightens her hold on his elbow after hearing Jason speak to her over the din.

Aubrey notices a person. She recognises her right immediately in the crowd. A few feet away is Ileana, who is a few of stone heavier and has different hair, but she is unmistakably her. Next to her, Rose is almost ahead and shorter.

Ileana calls out to Aubrey and wraps her arm around her shoulder before giving her a tight squeeze.
"You are so gorgeous, my God! Just take a look at her Rose—she has changed significantly!"

Rose is uncomfortable as she stands next to Ileana and maintains a fixed smile.

"Hey, we've reserved a location close to the food, and lots of our group members will congregate there, so let's go!"
Ileana grabs Aubrey by her arm and tries to yank her away, but Aubrey turns to Jason and mouths, "I don't want to go with them."

Taking the situation, Jason exclaims "Hello Ileana, how have you been?"

Ileana turns to face him after failing to acknowledge.
"oh! h-hey?" She says while awkwardly grinning, obviously forgetting about him.

"Do you recall him, the class's hearthrobe?" asks Aubrey

Ileana says, "Yeah, the most attractive guy in class. How can I forget him? All the girls wanted to talk to him. They wanted to be friends. Some girls even proposed to him. But this guy. He broke all girls' hearts, including mine. He doesn't talk to any of the girls except you.

Jason and Aubrey chuckle at her remarks.

Aubrey chuckles, "Is that why all the girls hated me before the summer holidays?"

That's why, but the real culprit was this attractive jerk right here, Ileana explains.

Jason grins and says, "I still am."

Ileana tries to flirt by saying, "No, you're more attractive now."

Really, Aubrey says, "let me see your face." He then turns to face her.

"Oh no, I think Ileana needs glasses.

They chuckled at her comments as Jason pouts and inadvertently steps on her leg.

Hey truth stings, I know, but you have to accept it, she say, and then they both start having adorable fights.

Ileana chooses to stop their argument.
"Okay kids, stop fighting," she said, causing us to sneer.

'Aubrey, come let's go get some food'.
When Aubrey turns to look, she notices that Jason is still in his spot.

Jason says, "you go. I'll go catch up with some friends."
