PROLOGUE - I CAN'T MAKE YOU LOVE ME

I thought our love was epic. It was supposed to be one for the ages. Every time you held me in your arms, it felt like I was in a fairy tale. Then your plane crashed on our wedding day and I felt like the world around me was moving in slow motion when all I could think of and dream of was seeing you again and getting the air back to my lungs.

I know I told you I would never give you up, but I'm so tired of constantly fighting alone for our love to come back. I hope you can be as happy with Selin as we were when we were in each other's arms. I'm moving to Italy and I'm gonna try to write a new chapter in my life. I don't think I'll ever be able to fall out of love with you, but I deserve a chance to be happy again, regardless of everything we went through.

Don't worry about the company shares. I already signed off the transfer documents and instructed Ceren to give them back to you, the rightful owner. I know how much the company means to you and what Semiha hanim did wasn't right.

Thank you for showing me how to love and to be truly loved. It was short-lived as a beautiful dream, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Take good care of Sirius for me! I'm sorry to have taken a little while longer to give him back to you, even though I knew how much you missed each other. Giving up on our "son" felt like I was giving up on the dream of getting our family back together.

Serkan read those words repeatedly.

He couldn't believe she was leaving.

Regardless of his amnesia and their constant bickering at Art Life, he didn't want her to leave. He couldn't explain, admit or rationalize how he felt when she was around, it was like cold fire.

Selin told him that Eda was an evil woman with an agenda and holding up to this, he refused to remember being in love with her. No matter what everybody - Engin, Piril, Aydan, Seyfi, Leyla and even Erden - told him after he came back, he didn't want to show he was a weak man who lost himself to a woman's charm and lost his company in the way.

He was sitting alone, all by himself in his apartment and he felt like his world was collapsing.

That's when he decided he needed to try.

Eda was a woman worth being remembered, Eda deserved a man who could love her the way she should be loved.

There were a million things he learned about her ever since they met.

She was fearless. Unlike other people, Eda wasn't afraid of his temper. She never shone away from defying him. It was infuriating how she could get to his nerves, but at the same time, he felt challenged to give his best, to be at the top of his game in order to challenge her back.

Eda was also so loving to everyone else around her. People respected her out of love and not out of fear.

She was such a talented landscape architect. Even though she was a few months away from graduation, she had such a unique take on the projects and garden designs.
