Hi guys,
I came back as soon as I could to bring you Part 2 of Tanzanian EdSer love affair.
It wasn't an easy one to write, I must admit. I had to work my ass off researching historical and cultural facts about Tanzania, but I feel happy about the result.

"What did you think Serkan? Tell me so I can understand and be less mad at you."
"I thought I had nothing to lose, but you did all right?! You're too important Eda. My life is meaningless, so if someone should have died here today, it was me, never you." He spoke in one single breath.
"How come you think your life is less important than mine Serkan?"
"You know when you told me that you would have to send a condolence note to my family. Unfortunately, there isn't one to send a note to. At least not anymore. I know we talked about my life and my career switch from being an editor to joining the magazine and travelling the world, but I haven't told you why I did it."
"What happened in your life Serkan?"
--------------------------------------
He took a picture from his inside pocket and showed her.
"These are my wife Selin and my son Alp." Serkan handed the picture to Eda. "I met my wife when we were studying at Cambridge. We got married as soon as we both graduated and moved to London afterwards. Alp was born a year after our wedding. He was 4 yrs old when I took this picture of them."
Eda kept looking at him, waiting for him to continue his story.
"At that time I was working a lot at the newspaper, trying to get a promotion and provide a better life for them. Selin came from a wealthy family. Her father is a Scottish Earl and she grew up accustomed to a luxurious life. I don't know what she saw in me, but maybe she got mistaken for my stepfather's wealth and thought our life would be much easier. Between my hectic schedule at work and the fact that our relationship was strained, we grew apart." Tears started coming down from his eyes and Eda was immediately heartbroken.
"She decided to take Alp to Glasgow to visit her parents and I thought it was for the best, that a little time apart would give us the break we needed. I even felt relieved, can you believe it?" He admitted. "The airplane they were in crashed a few minutes after taking off from Heathrow Airport."
"Oh my God Serkan! I'm so sorry for your loss." She consoled him while trying to hold back her own tears.
"Don't be Eda. You would think I was still there at the airport when the airplane crashed, damn it, other passengers' families and friends were there and saw the tragedy happening before their own eyes, but do you know where I was? I was at the office, working. I was such an awful husband and father that I couldn't get the time to drive them to the airport and say a proper goodbye."
Serkan was openly crying and sobbing. Eda reached for his hand and tried to give him some comfort.
"You see... you were not wrong when you said I was an idiot. I'm a despicable human being. I received the news of my family demise at the newsroom, alongside my colleagues, discussing the coverage strategy."
