-Austin-
The police told Ashlee and myself to stay outside while they went in, advising us that it was too dangerous to go in there. I knew Shay, I knew he wanted to hurt me mentally, emotionally, not physically because deep down somewhere in that black heart of his he still loved me too much to hurt me. Unfortunately I don't love him, not anymore.
"Austin, are you okay?" I felt Ashlee place a hand on my shoulder. I looked over and sighed.
"I will be when I see that he's okay..." I said quietly.
I heard another scream but it was cut short. I crouched down on the ground and took a deep breath then got back up. One of the officers' radio buzzed and someone was talking but I couldn't understand what they said. The officer looked at the other one and told him to call an ambulance. I was mortified. Was Alan okay? Where was he?
I heard the sirens as the ambulance pulled up. The paramedics went in with a stretcher. I was relieved but still scared at the same time when I saw them bring Alan out.
"Alan! Alan are you okay?" I rushed towards them but they were in a hurry.
"He's unconscious right now, why don't you head to the hospital right now?" The officer said.
I nodded. "Thank you for finding him."
Ashlee got in the car and I got in the other side. I saw a strange vehicle pull up. The man who stepped out was the coroner around here. I realized with dread that it meant there was a body in there. Shay? He's dead?
"They'll explain what happened later Aus, why don't you take a nap." Ashlee smiled kindly at me. "You've had a long... well... month."

I woke up on the couch in the hospital waiting room. Ashlee was reading a tattoo magazine and taking pictures of the ones she liked. I yawned and sat up.
"Hey..." She mumbled. "They said you can go in and see him now, but he's still unconscious."
Without another word I got up and made my way to the room. There was no sense in knocking, there wouldn't be an answer right now. I went on inside and looked around. Alan was sleeping in the bed. They'd told me that he had to have stitches and he was pretty badly bruised but they expected a full recovery. As for Shay... he was killed, stabbed right in the gut. As much as I hate to say it, he got what was coming to him. I mean he did nearly kill my boyfriend.
Hours passed and finally Alan began to stir.
"Aus?" He whimpered weakly.
"Hey..." I smiled and placed a kiss on his head. "How are you feeling?"
He looked over and then back. "Medicated... so, pretty damn good." He laughed. "I'll probably really feel it later though."
"I'm so glad I got you back." I smiled at him. "I've missed you so much my ginger kitty."
He laughed. "I've missed you too. I thought I'd never get to see you again."
"No matter where you go or what happens I'm gonna always find you and I'm always gonna protect you." I smiled and kissed him. There was a soft knock on the door and Ashlee poked her head in.
"Hey I hate to break up the party but Kellin and Vic are here." She grinned.
"Like we ruin a party." Kellin rolled his eyes.
"Oh, paging Dr. Sassy Ass...." We all laughed at Ashlee's comment.
"We're glad you're okay Alan." Vic smiled.
"Good to be back together huh?" Alan smiled.

-Alan-
After a week in the hospital I was ready to be home. I'd missed the place so much. Things had pretty much returned to normal after all the shit we'd been through. It was good to be able to relax for a while and not worry about if you were gonna die. I settled in next to Austin as he pressed play on the remote.
"Starwars?" I grinned.
"Starwars." He nodded.
"Nickolodeon." I whispered.
"What? Why?!" He laughed. We both burst into a fit of laughter. I couldn't be any happier than I was in that moment. Austin got up and pulled me along with him. "I need to do something before we start the movie. Come on."
"Okay..." I smiled and followed him. He took me out to the deck. We stood looking at the ocean. He smiled and turned to me.
"Alan, I love you more than you'll ever know and there's something I've been wanting to ask you for a while now." He held out a small box and opened it. "Alan will you marry me?"
"Yes..." I smiled and he hugged me close.
"WEDDING!" We both nearly fell backwards as Ashlee jumped up and hugged us both.
"Where the hell did you come from?" I asked.
"Under the deck..." She grinned. "Well I'm off to spread the gossip. Bye guys!"
I shook my head and laughed. "Well let's go watch the movie."
"Rodger that..." Austin smiled.
"Shut up." I laughed.
