"Breathtaking as always, thanks for being here, Cariño." Xavier said in a cold tone and kissed my hand.
At that moment, I didn't care if he was being sarcastic or if there was a bit of truth in his words. I preferred to deceive myself like a fool in order not to ruin my special magic moment. I lost myself in those fierce brown eyes, forgetting to reply.
"You amaze me with your acting skills, Cariño. I almost had the feeling that you were in love with me at first sight."
His dry, harsh voice ripped me out of my dreamy cloud castles. God, what am I doing? Pull yourself together, Isobel!
"It's a new character study, honey. I decided to put it into practice with you today. It was a way to kill two birds with one stone at this boring event."
I tried to speak in the most arrogant and ironic way I had ever learned to speak. But I am not used to bad words like Bella.
"You're going to spice up the evening, Cariño. It will be fun to see a sheep in wolf's clothing."
"I think you mean a wolf in sheep's clothing, honey." I said.
"Exactly! Occasionally, I get the proverbs mixed up, like all those filthy Latinos you despise."
"Don't put words into my mouth, I would never say that."
I spoke abruptly and betrayed myself once again. I don't know what came over me, I don't understand why I was making these rookie mistakes. I had swapped places with Bella several times before, but this man disarmed me. Talking to him was like walking through a minefield.
Xavier frowned and smirked. He was studying my reactions with a keen interest, and the intensity of his gaze made me blush.
"Forgive me, Ángel, it is hard for me to believe in miracles, I am not a religious man."
"Better put that nonsense aside and let's go greet the people. Isn't that why you requested my presence?" I said with my head high.
"That's right, Ángel. I may become a believer by the end of the night. Come on. I have some people I need you to meet."
He took me by the waist and led me into the hall. His touch was firm and warm, and his fingers caressed my skin under the thin fabric of my dress. He didn't take his hand off my waist while he had a casual conversation with people. He did it deliberately to confuse me and seemed to blatantly enjoy it.
I wanted this night to be over; I wanted to get out of there. As if the sheer number of people and the confusion of sounds and light weren't enough to make me confused, the close contact with him made me feel strange. His fingers had a soft and insolent touch, revealing gaps between my dress and the neckline of my back, giving me goosebumps. I felt a strange tingling in my private parts, an agony that made me sigh. It was as if they were begging to be touched to get some relief. For the first time, I longed to be touched by someone. I always hated to be touched by anyone, and these new sensations overwhelmed me.
I made an excuse to the people and went to the restroom. My legs were shaking, and the tingly in my intimate part was making me crazy. I tried to control my breathing and squeezed my legs together to relieve the strange sensation. The emptiness and silence of the restroom soothed my mind and body. That devil is waiting for me outside, and I know I cannot stay in the restroom forever.
I have to call Bella, she knows how to deal with men! She will tell me what to do to stop the demon touching me, or how to deal with the strange sensations he makes me feel! She will help me fix this mess, she put me in.
