My eyes roamed the school campus, my new home, my new beginning.
As I was looking around, a hand snaked into mine.
"Are you ready?" Tara asked me while nodding her head to a large building.
Our dorm.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I replied and swung our arms as we headed up to our room.
Fourth floor, room 212, one floor under Chad's dorm, 3 rooms away from Mindy's.
As Tara opened the door I carried our bags inside.
"Can you believe that this is all ours?" Tara smiled as she jumped onto the large bed that was placed in the first bedroom.
It wasn't a very big place but it was enough.
When you entered the dorm, you were met with a living room and a kitchen. There is a bedroom on the left and one on the right. One bathroom for each room with a shower and a toilet.
"I claim this one by the way." Tara said while rolling around on the bed.
I smiled at her, she had been through so much yet never failed to put on a smile.
My room was on the right, it had a queen sized bed, a desk to study on and a wardrobe.
"Perfect." I mumbled to myself and began to unpack.
After both Tara and I finished unpacking, someone knocked on our door.
"What's up bitches!" Mindy said as I opened the door with a giggle.
A beautiful girl followed her in, she smiled and thanked me for opening the door.
"This my beautiful ladies, is Anika, she is my roommate." Mindy smiled as she put her arm around the girl.
"Hi, I'm Tara and this is Y/n." Tara introduced as she waved at the girl.
"It's nice to meet you Anika, I love your outfit." I said while giving her a big smile.
"Thank you!" The brunette smiled as she blushed a little.
The four of us decided that we wanted to celebrate our new homes so we made it our mission to go out and get snacks for tonight.
We wandered around the Target that was located next to the campus, throwing various snacks and drinks into our cart.
I was looking through some chocolate bars when Mindy spoke up.
"Are Chad and Ethan coming tonight?"
Ethan? That was a name I hadn't heard before.
"Who is Ethan?" Tara asked as if she had read my mind.
"It's his roommate." Anika smiled.
"Of course they can come!" I said while throwing my chosen chocolate bars in the cart.
Chad is my best friend, he helped me through my moms death and has always been there for me. I could never repay him for everything he has done. The days he spent comforting me and taking care of me. I owed my life to him.
"Y/n/n?" You okay?" Mindy asked as she put a hand on my shoulder.
I snapped out of my thoughts and nodded with a smile.
"Just thinking."
"I think that's everything, let's go guys!" Tara smiled as she pushed the cart to the register.
We walked back to our dorm, Anika and Mindy going back to theirs to get ready.
Tara and I set up everything for our party/sleepover tonight and got ready.
Not even half an hour later there was a knock on the door.
"Y/n! Can you get that?" Tara shouted from her room.
I walked to the door and opened it, only to be met with my best friend.
"Chad!" I giggled as he pulled me into his arms and twirled me around.
After he put me down he went to greet Tara, who had now entered the room too.
I looked back at the door, a tall brown haired guy awkwardly standing in the doorframe. I couldn't help but stare a little, he was absolutely gorgeous.
"You must be Ethan!" I said as I let him inside and gave him a small hug.
He froze up before gently hugging back.
"You must be Y/n." He said.
"Chad told me a lot about you guys." Ethan exclaimed with a smile before following me into the living room. Anika and Mindy soon joined the group as we all took place on and around the couch.
"You didn't tell me your roommate is gorgeous." I whispered to Chad.
"So is yours." He winked, causing me to laugh and shake my head.
I sat on the floor, in between Chad's legs, Ethan and Tara on either side of me.
Anika, Mindy and were both seated on the couch next to each other.
"Isn't Sam coming?" I asked, my eyes wandering to the girl on my left.
"No, she has work." Tara sighed with a small frown.
Sam had been working two jobs, it was expensive to live and study here but she really tried her hardest to provide for her and Tara.
I placed my hand onto her knee and gently rubbed it to comfort her.
She thanked me with a smile and changed the subject..
The rest of the night was filled with laughter and fun as we all got to know eachother better.
Anika was really nice and it was very obvious that Mindy already had a crush on her.
Ethan was a bit awkward but eventually loosened up at the end of the night, we had a lot in common and even shared a few classes.We decided to watch a movie but everyone fell asleep rather quickly. My head rested on Ethans' shoulder as I dozed off.
Chad looked at us and then at Tara. They were the only ones still awake.
