The three best books I've read all. month in order, nothing else is worth half the trouble.
1# ACE OF SPADES by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé (what a mouthful xd)
Score: 9.9
2# The TRUTH APP by Heath
Score: 9.7
3# The POET X by Acevedo
Score: 9.5
If you have a thirst for suspense or love of mysteries the top two books are your best choices.
I don't wanna give away to many details about those books but lets just say the people you think you know arent always who they seem to be. In either book.
But for of Ace of spades I'll add that it tackles big topics like highschool popularity constests, homophobia, and racism. It is sharp, exciting, suspenseful, cooridnated and well written it almost feels as if youve been slapped in the face repeatedly throughout the duration of the novel. And if you like happy endings, this one comes pretty close.
The truth app, not only is an interesting storyline but the book itself has notes that intrigued me about the tells and mechanics of lying.
Lastly if you are or can relate to anything listed below:
Female
Poetry (reading OR writing)
Rebellion
Non-conforming Christian/Religion
Full of words but no one hears you
Bad relationship with parents
Strong willedThen I reccommend Poet X. It is beautiful and relatable to me in ways I never thought anybody else understood.
A verses from the book, "I pretend my ears are cotton filled. I speak to no one. The world is almost peaceful when you stop trying to understand it." I couldn't have said it better myself muchacha.
It is a must read and all three have instantly become one of my favorites. Again this is all my personal opinion, feel free to oppose me. ;)
