Chapter 29

*Harry POV*

The girls looked so beautiful, but Vanessa was so stunning I couldn't stop staring at her. She noticed me staring a few times and just kinda laughed to herself. She would do the smallest thing and my face would go all red. We pull up to the restaurant and I open the door for Vanes as Niall opens it for Gabby.

We tell them our reservations and sit down at as large table with the rest of the boys, the girlfriends and a few others. I scope the table saying hi to everyone until my eye notices Perrie sitting next to Zayn.

*Vanessa POV*

Zayn: 'Vanessa and Gabby, this is my girlfriend Perrie' he had a giant smile on his face.

Me: 'Hi! It's nice to meet you.' We share a friendly hug.

Perrie: 'So are you here as Harry's date?' she asks and Harry chokes a bit on his water and blushes.

Me: 'Hmm...I really don't know...' you joke but it had a serious tone.

Perrie: 'And you with Niall?' she winks at Gabby as she gives her a hug.

Gabby: 'Ahaha, I'd like to think that to...' she gets Niall a bit of a glare but he avoids eye contact.

I am so happy to see Zayn happy. I bet Perrie was trying to surprise him and I guess it worked. I have never seen Zayn with a bigger smile on his face ever.

We sit around the table and start to talk. Gabby and I tell them what school we go to and grade we're in and how we got to come here.

Liam: 'Then you ladies have prom this year?'

Gabby: 'Yeah! It's not until like 2 months after we get back though.'

Harry: 'Uh..Do you...Um..Have dates to your prom?'

Me: 'I don't but lovely Gabby over here didn't have a problem finding a date.'

Zayn: 'Vanes, you don't have a date to your prom?'

Me: 'Nah, I'm not much of a score with the guys. Not much of a flirt.' I smile cause I don't really care for being in relationships usually.

Harry: 'I beg to differ' he mumbles.

Me: 'I heard that...' I mumble back and he laughs to cover up how red his cheeks are getting.

Niall: 'So you're going to your prom alone?'

Me: 'I don't know, I might now go...' I look at Gabby glaring at me.

Gabby: 'Oh, you're going!'

Me: 'Okay I guess I'm going...' I smile at them.

We hold some small talk when Louis brings up the subject of their upcoming tour.

Louis: 'And we have the worldwide tour coming up in a few months.'

Me: 'Oh yeah! I forgot about that! Gabs and I wanted to go to that...' I say and it's still a light mood.

Louis: 'Why didn't you go?'

Gabby: 'Too much money...'

Louis: 'Why don't you join us for the Canadian part of our tour?' causing Gabby and I to laugh.

Me: 'You know we have school, grad, prom, work...' I laugh.

Zayn: 'It would have been fun for you to come to a few shows!'

Gabby: 'Yeah but we don't really have time. After grad you only have one more show before you fly back.'

Liam: 'True...But you guys should come and visit this summer' all the boys smile at us.

Me: 'I think we probably could! For a month or so!' I smile at them and they all get excited looks on their faces.

After a little more small talk and we eat dinner it's time to go. We walk outside after the boys pay and stand out there for a bit just talking still. I really loved talking to these guys and the girls. They are all so nice, sweet, kind, caring, funny, and just amazing!

*Gabby POV*

I'm talking to Niall alone right now and I'm hoping he would ask me out soon. I swear, I have been dying for him to make this move. I just had a feeling he might do it tonight and I really hope her does. Niall comes closer to me Face to Face, kissing distance. She says softly "Gabby, you are the most amazing girl I have ever met." He leans in closer and he is about to kiss me!! SDJGHKADSFGKAJDFAKSDFHGAKJFDSGAKSDFBASwas all that was going on in my head. I lean in to, our lips about to meet when someone tugs me away.

Me: 'Vanessa! What are you doing?!' I look at her and she had tears running down her face.

Vanes: 'We have to go!' she gets out between sobs.

*Vanessa POV*

Harry and I were just talking outside of the restaurant; I see Gabby and Niall talking to. I really like Harry but, I don't know if I could handle a long distance relationship. Despite that fact, more than anything I want Harry to ask me out. Me and him to have something special, something real.

Harry: 'Vanes...I have been dying to ask you this...' I smile at him signaling him to continue. He leans in closer to me.

Harry: 'Vanessa, would you be my girlfriend?' he asks giving me a cheeky smile. OH MY GOD! YES YES YES YES YES YES! I need to act calm about it though.

I smile and take a breath, trying to think of how to say yes calmly. As I am about to speak my phone rings.

Vanessa: 'Saved by the bell...' I smile sheepishly and look at the phone.

Vanessa: 'Ugh! Harry, I'm really sorry but it's my mom's cell and I haven't heard from her since I landed! I kinda have to talk to her...' I tell him and he smiles.

Harry: 'Don't worry about it love! She's probably just wondering if you're okay and how everything is going. But I do expect and answer when your done' he winks at me. I smile a him.

"Hey mom!" I say answering the phone.

"It's Jason..." he says and doesn't sound to well. Ugh! My mom's annoying boyfriend!

"Jason, what do you want?" I asked annoyed; I always give him attitude.

"Vanessa, you need to come home right now! I already talked to the airlines and you are able to get on a flight that leaves in 3 hours!" he said.

"What are you talking about! I'm not leaving! I have 2 weeks left!" I yell back.

"Vanessa, your mom is in the hospital." My jaw drops and I get a look of panic on my face that Harry notices.

Harry: 'Vanes, everything okay?' I signal for him to shut up.

"Wh...What's wrong?" I ask stuttering.

"Vanessa, she's sick. She doesn't have much longer to live." He asks and I can feel the pain in his voice.

"What?!" tears start escaping my eyes and I'm shivering. "I..I..We will be there...." I say and hang up the phone.

Harry: 'Vanes! Are you okay!?'

Me: 'I...I need to go!'

Harry: 'Go where?!'

Me: 'Can you take us back to the hotel right now?!' I scream in a rush.

Harry: 'Yeah! Of course!" he's still confused.

I feel bad for interrupting but Gabby and I need to pack now to catch the flight. I didn't even tell Harry I had to leave England. I pull Gabby's arm pulling her away from Niall.

Gabby: 'Vanessa! What are you doing?!' she looks at me and notices the tears streaming down my face.

Me: 'We have to go!' I get out between sobs.
