I’m sitting painfully through the most boring business class ever praying the lunch bell will ring soon so I can get out of this class!! Finally after what felt to be years, the bell rings, and as usual I am the first person out of my seat and run out of the class. I make my way to Gabby’s locker as I do every other day but today we had plans to go get pizza for lunch.

Gabby:  ‘You ready?’

Me:  ‘Yeah, but I’m not really hungry so I’m not going to eat anything.’

Gabby:  ‘Yeah me either. Let’s sit on the field...’

She said simply.

Me:  ‘Okay, I hope the football team doesn’t have practice...’

Some random people keep smashing into us in the hallway.

M:  ‘Can we get out of here?’

Me and Gabby walk out of the school and sit in the field to talk.

Me: ‘Okay, Gabby...I think I’m fine. It’s only soccer practice’ I winked at her.

Gabby:  ‘Hahaa okay. No one cute is on the soccer team though...’

Me: ‘No one cute goes to our school...’

Gabby: ‘Truee saayy’

We continue to talk about what we usually do. Our lives, problems and drama, but because we already know everything about each other’s problems we just talk about random stuff. The thing about me and Gabby, is we can have a full conversation over the stupidest more pointless things!!

**Gabby’s POV**

I am starting to get concerned for Vanessa. Not like she is going through a hard time but I’m the only one she can talk to. Plus, what kind of teenage girl thinks NO GUYS are cute at all. Except for the famous ones of course!

Oh wait...What is she talking about now...? Something about shoes....I think? Wow I get drifted off easily....

Me:  ‘Have you gotten your dress for grad or prom yet??’

I ask trying to change the subject because I have no clue what she was just talking about.

Vanessa just started staring off into place. She is staring at the sky, and she looks deep in thought. I was just about to snap her back into reality when...

Vanessa: ‘OH SHIIT!!’

Me: ‘WHAT!?!?’

I say completely startled, which quickly turns into confusion.

Vanessa: ‘Isn’t the grad meeting for ALL grade 12s like.... now?’

I check the time on my phone. “Ahhh! Its starting now” I scream as we both bolt up run to the auditorium. We get there in record time and take 2 seats near the back of the large group of students. The principle was JUST starting as we bolted in.

**Vanessa’s POV**

“Running a little late?” The principle said with a rude, annoyed smirk on her face.

Me: ‘Sorry, we lost track of time....’

I said sweetly yet confidently.

Principle:  ‘Well, as you know your grad and prom are going to be in June but we have super exciting news!’

All of us grade 12’s groan just knowing it’s going to be something boring and stupid...But what she says next got everyone out of their seats cheering and for me, took my breath away with excitement.....
