Aaliyahs POV
I rolled out of bed early, sneaking away from Ryan so I could get my work finished. I went through my boxes and decorated the house some. Before long it was time to go through my clothes. I slowly ended up hanging my jeans and tshirts in his closet. Eventually I got to put everything else in a drawer or two in his dresser. It was only 9:30 and I felt I had so much more to do. I went into the kitchen and decided I could cook breakfast for him eggs, bacon, and biscuits were made and ready for when he woke up. I kept quiet and decided to start cleaning the house some, sweeping and mopping the floors, getting rid of the trash, and doing all the dishes. When that was finished I walked outside and started unpacking everything for my horses. I walked into the tack area of the barn and realized I didn't have saddle racks or anything to hang up bridles. I set everything I had down in the room before checking out the stalls, which had no troughs or hooks for halters and lead ropes. I went into the office area and saw I needed a desk and other supplies for it. It still wasn't fully complete but I figured it wouldn't hurt to run out and get everything I needed so I could get the job done. I walked in the house and went to grab my keys before Ryan stopped me.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"Running to a store to get some stuff for the barn." I replied.
"Lemme eat and I'll go with you!" He said as he finished his food.
"No its fine I can go." I said as I tried to make him stay.
"I don't mind helping out. Besides I ain't got nothing to do anyhow." He replied. I watched as he went and got dressed before reappearing in the living room. We both got into the truck and he drove me to the store for what I needed. I went straight to the farm section, specifically the horses. I found a ton of saddle racks that you can install into your wall, and a few you can set up on the ground, the wood needed to build troughs, a few halters, lead ropes, and a new hemp rope to use for roping. I went along to a furniture section grabbing a desk and chair for the office along with a filing cabinet to keep track of things with my horses. All in all I spent about $1500 on the necessities. Ryan stuck by my side like glue before whipping out his card to pay for everything.
"I appreciate the gesture but I can pay for my own stuff." I said as we stepped out of the store. He began putting everything into the bed of the truck and climbing back inside the cab.
"Yeah but I don't mind helping out with this stuff. Its things we missed anyhow." He replied. I looked over to him as we drove back to the house.
"Still. Its jsut odd to have you paying for so much. I mean people are gonna start talking and saying I'm only in it for the money." I said as we pulled into the driveway.
"Let them fucking talk. You and I both know it snot true and regardless its none of their fucking business." He replied as he threw the truck in park in front of the barn.
"I guess. Where do you keep your nails and shit? I gotta build these troughs. And then I'll have to build the desk." I said as I looked over to him.
"I know what you're doing. You're staying busy for a reason. I'm gonna help you with this." He said.
"I don't need it! I've got it." I replied as I stepped out of the truck and started carrying some things. I packed it where I needed it to go and went back to the truck. I could see the look on Ryans face. I ended up making him mad but he doesn't realize I don't want to sit around. If I sit I think. I didn't want to think right now. I wanted to stay busy so I could feel somewhat same. So I didn't fall apart.
