In the Shade of the Sun and Moon

In the sunflower field they stood,
Luna and John, hand in hand,
As she whispered a mischievous plan,
To close his eyes and count to ten.

He did as she asked, with a smile,
And felt her soft lips for a while,
But as she ran towards the edge,
He blurted out the first thing in his head.

"I see you leaving!" he said with glee,
As Luna laughed and rolled her eyes,
And said, "You're such a dork, Johnny!"

But in his heart, he felt a warmth,
At the thought of spending another day,
In the sunflower field with Luna,
Watching the world pass away.

But as the sun began to fade,
And Luna bid him goodnight,
John felt a pang of sadness,
As he realized his true plight.

For though he loved Luna's light,
And her laughter was like a song,
His heart still longed for Hima,
And it felt like it always would be wrong.

He tried to push the thought away,
And focus on the present bliss,
But the ache persisted, day by day,
A weight he could not dismiss.

So he stood in the sunflower field,
Watching Luna dance in the sun,
And though he felt grateful for her love,
He knew his heart had already won.

For Luna would always be the moon,
And Hima the sun, bright and true,
And though he cherished Luna's light,
He couldn't help but love Hima too.
