Chapter13: Terran wolves

It was still daytime, so Jason decided to search the surrounding area for materials to spend the night and to gather more information about the mysterious forest.

He randomly picked a direction and started to head deeper into the forest.

As he proceeded, the trees became denser, and even the sunlight couldn't pass through them.

The mana was much denser, making the trees much bigger and healthier than normal.

Despite walking for around 20 minutes, Jason couldn't spot any form of life other than the trees, which was quite odd as the environment was perfect for wildlife.

Suddenly, he heard a loud scream of an animal coming from the left direction.

Jason quickly ran towards the source of the voice.

As he got closer, he heard several other voices.

When he finally reached the spot, he saw Lily covered in blood, fighting some sort of wolf-like monster.

"Lily," he called out. Hearing her name, Lily turned her head towards him and smiled.

She then suddenly collapsed on the ground with that smile on her face, as if she had finally seen her lover after a very long time.

Jason swiftly caught her before she hit the ground and checked if she was okay.

He breathed out a sigh of relief after finding out that she was only unconscious.

He picked her up and quickly carried her to an area away from the battlefield.

He placed her carefully on the ground and went back to take care of the monsters, but not before whispering some words in her ear.

"Sleep peacefully. I will take care of the rest," he said.

Jason then turned his attention towards the wolf pack and made eye contact with them.

Even for a moment, the wolf got scared by his intense rage.

Without wasting any time, Jason dashed towards the wolf pack and attacked them.

He picked a wolf that was close to him and aimed his sword at its neck to kill it in one go.

The other reason he chose that particular wolf was because its back was facing a tree, so even if it wanted to, it couldn't run away from Jason's attack.

However, when the sword was about to cut the wolf's neck, something weird happened.

The wolf passed through the tree as if it was a different kind of terrain.
