Dearest Elle,

Congratulations baby girl! I am so excited for you! Being engaged is such a special time in your life. Your Father and I are so proud of how much you've grown up, and the beautiful woman that you've become. You are going to make such a gorgeous bride.

I asked June to step in as mother to my beautiful bride. She will help you do all things wedding, and I know that everything will be just amazing. You deserve all the best, my sweet girl.

Watching you grow up has been my greatest privilege and honor. You have always been such a selfless person, always giving to others. Always hold onto that. And hold onto your stubbornness as well. You are a force to be reckoned with, and you are going to do amazing things one day. I am so proud of you for growing into the wonderful woman that you are. Being your Mom has been the biggest blessing in my life. I always wanted a little girl just like you. I see so much of myself in you.

I know that you are young, baby, but don't even worry about that. I was young when I got married too, and it was one of the best things that I've ever done, second to giving birth to my two incredible children. I want you to enjoy this time of your life. Cherish every moment, and always remember what it felt like to have that ring sliding onto your finger. Time goes by so quickly, and before you know it, you will be married, and then having children of your own.

Love is an amazing thing and I hope and pray that you have found the same kind of love, that I found with your father. I hope that your love is out of this world, and leaves you feeling loopy and floating on air. Love is the most important thing in the world, Sweetie. But at the same time, it is scary, and you never know what is going to happen. It is one of the most beautiful things in life, but also the most terrifying. Love is happiness and sacrifice all rolled into one. In a relationship, love is time. Taking time for each other is the key to harmony in your life, and in your home. Love your partner as much as they love you. Give them your heart and your time. Build a life with them. One that you enjoy and are proud to be living. Build a family, and cherish every moment that you have together, because one day it just might be cut short, as mine was.

I wish I could be there for your big day, Honey. But know that I will be there in spirit, and I am always in your heart. Enjoy being engaged, and shout your happiness from the rooftops. You deserve every good thing that comes your way. Take pride and joy in your choices, and know that I support you 100%. You are my baby girl, no matter how old you get.

"You ok?" I asked as Elle and I laid in bed late that night, her staring at the ring that I had placed on her finger earlier this evening. She looked very peaceful, not upset or worried or anything. Just peaceful.

"Yeah, I'm good." Elle answered with a smile.
