Ah, after school. Unless you had important duties to fulfill with your council mates, after school was your time to either go home or sit in the library to do homework. Up until recently, it was a perfect place to execute one of your favorite pastimes: reading.
And during these current times, timing and speed were everything.
At the sounding of that last period bell ringing, you snatched up your bag and pulled the books from your desk and shoved inside. You stood, flipped your desk upside down on the table, and similar to a gust of wind, you passed everyone by to get out the door; Swift and as fast your legs could carry you.
Shinsuke who just turned towards your desk, noticed you weren't there but managed to get half a glimpse of your hair before you completely disappeared behind the door frame. He shook his head as the corner of his lip stretched. 'I guess I'll try asking tomorrow then...'
When you got out into the hallway, barely anybody was there, but it only took second before they began pouring out from there classrooms, especially class 5. When passing their classroom, you peaked into the room.
"Hey, Kuroo. I can see (l/n)-san lookin' into our class." Said a male student, still seated near the window of the hallway.
Kuroo kept his back on the hallway, but definitely heard what he wanted to hear. "Thanks for the info, my man." He wanted to give you the feeling that you didn't have to rush today. That way, you'd be less on your guard by the time he began his chase.
'It doesn't seem like he's in a hurry today.' Your eyes narrowed. 'He must have clean-up duty or something.' But with him, you took no chances. You pulled your eyes to check on the number of students. Because of the growth of the crowd, it was going to be a bit difficult to run as freely.
"She gone, yet?" He asked.
"....She just left. Ah, but she just got caught up by the crowd."
"Thanks, man!" Kuroo swiped his bag off his desk and sprinted across the classroom. "Lunch is on me tomorrow!"
Kuroo hung onto the door frame as he swung his head outside for a peak. How far did you really get in this game of cat and mouse? But it was more like cat vs cat. "Oho," he snickered. "Aren't we a fast little kitten." He released his grip and leaped into the hallway among the others. He'd only gotten a few steps in before he heard shrieks.
"Senpai, can we walk home with you today?" His fan club.
"Kuroo-kun, let's go home together today. Pleeaase."
He looked all around and the girls began to surround him in almost no-time. His eyes shot up in the distance, finding your figure frozen two seconds before you completely bolted out of there. His eyes darkened at the sight. "Challenge accepted, (Y/n)."
Already breaking past the hoard of girls in his way, he made sure to apologize. "Sorry ladies, but I've got plans today." With a parting wink to them, he pushed and shoved his way past his fellow peers. Not a care in the world for whose shoulder got bumped, his eyes kept a dead-lock on you. That is, until you made a sudden break to the left. "Where are we going today, huh?"
He slid to a halt at the reach of the stairwell and walked into it. "Damn." Down or up? Well, it was only the roof going up from here, so down was the only sensible option, so that's the route he took.
**Achoo!**
Kuroo stopped. His head whipped around to the loud sneeze. On his lips stretched a smirk. 'Too bad for you, (Y/n), but Lady Luck is definitely smiling down on me today.' He took soundless steps back up the stairs.
