Fifty-eight calls! That was the number of times David called Vanessa and she wasn't responding. He longed for nothing but to see her face or hear her voice. If only she would answer and tell him to go to hell, it would have been better than torturing him by not picking at all. He parked the car at his apartment and came out, dialing the number over and over again.

The wedding was not his fault. He was informed five days before it happened. He was not in love with the bride. He had only met her once or twice, he couldn't remember the second time but she was there at his brother, Micheal's wedding when he was marrying her sister. She was young and still is. He didn't love her and he knew she didn't too. He was only following orders. That was what heirs do. Follow orders of the business lord; their father. Whenever he said yes, then yes it is.

He dialed Vanessa's number again but it was turned off.

"Damn!" He cursed as he threw the phone against the wall and pulled at his long hair in frustration. Vanessa was in his blood. He could not forgive himself for causing her so much pain. He had told her the moment he was informed of his wedding and she had immediately hanged up after making sure it was not a prank. His mistake was informing her on phone but he couldn't have done it any other way. She was in Florida, for a modeling audition and far away from his reach in Chicago. What if the news had broken her enough to make her fail her audition?

He ran up the stairs to his bedroom and got into a cold shower. He needed it. As the water cascaded on him, his thoughts went back to his wedding which had taken place a few hours ago.

The bride, Joanna was her name. He had forgotten what she looked like until he unveiled her face and was mesmerized by her beauty. She has grown a few inches taller than he remembered but still wasn't close to his height. Her smile which he knew she faked was oddly comforting. Her eyes were round, bold, and captivating.

Their wedding kiss; the kiss was intense. He had seen her soft brunette hair beneath the veil and he almost gave into the urge to caress it and pull her to him to deepen the kiss.

His hand trails his lips and he could still feel her. It was weird how he couldn't break the kiss after it started. She must have thought he was a pervert, and instead of staying, he left her all alone. The wedding was not her fault too and he couldn't understand why he was defending her after just meeting her.

He came out of the bath, with nothing but a towel tied around his lean but strong waist. He walked to the bar in his living room and poured himself a drink before he noticed the presence of someone but he already knew who it was.

"How many times do I have to tell you to stop letting yourself into my apartment?" He arched an eyebrow at his brother Micheal, who was seated and twirling the phone David had thrown against the wall.

You would have changed the lock if you meant it" Micheal shrugged. "What is with the phone?"

"I crushed it. A total mistake" He said before pouring his brother another drink and stretching himself on a couch opposite Michael.

"You hate the marriage" It was a statement and not a question by Micheal. He dropped the phone on the center table and sat up. David only signed and ruffled his hair.

"I felt the same way too" Micheal continued. "But it gets better ay? Look at Evelyn and Jared. They are the best thing to happen to me" He smiled.

David rolled his eyes. He wasn't the one with words.

"Get dressed" Micheal ordered."Dad asked me to get you"

David grunted and headed upstairs without a word and a moment later came down dressed in a black tuxedo and the only color on it was the bow tie. His long hair was still damp from his shower although it was tied behind his back.

Micheal looked up at him and smile. David was another version of him. Except for their blond hair, they look nothing alike. Micheal was an inch shorter than his junior brother even though he was 32 and 5 years older than David. He has an attractive face, messy blond hair, a soft jaw, grey eyes, and thin lips while David has a hard jawline, long soft blond hair reaching his shoulders, sparkling blue eyes, and plump lips. While Micheal was an extrovert, David was always reserved. They were the complete opposite of each other.

"You look cute, little brother" Micheal commented as he picked up the key to his car and together headed out.

"While you were dressing, I called Jason to come to fix your phone," Micheal said as he drove them to their father's mansion. " You don't want Father to call and you aren't there to pick up, do you?".

"No, Of course not" David replied. He wasn't in his right mind when he crashed his phone. Vanessa was the only person he could think of and the thought of his father calling didn't come to his mind.

"Joanna is a nice girl, you will eventually fall for her," Michael told him but David only rolled his eyes. Vanessa is the only person for him.

"I never thought I could love Evelyn but I do, more than anything else's in the world and I couldn't have asked for more" Micheal continued, his voice filled with love. "Stay cool young brother and things will work out fine. Trust me"

I wish, David thought. Joanna was beautiful, he could say that about it but what does beauty have to do with love? No! Until he could reach Vanessa, he wouldn't think of another lady.

"Do you think she will forgive me?" David asked quietly.
