"I just can't do this anymore..." Leon softly says, making me pause and turn around, my eyes fill with tears as my lip wobbles, but I bite it and take a deep breath, my sadness turning to defensive anger.

"And why not?" I ask, watching as his cold expression begins to falter. Leon runs a hand through his hair as he lets out a shaky breath.

"It's too dangerous, I can't do my job if I'm worried about you all the time, wondering if they've got to you yet, or if you one day wake up and realise what a terrible person I am." Leon explains as he crosses his arms, his eyes find a spot near the floor next to me.

"You're not a terrible person, but you're making a terrible decision." I mumble, letting the tears finally fall as I can't hold them in any longer. Leon moves as if he's going to comfort me, but he stops himself. He then suddenly walks past me and grabs his jacket and keys, leaving the apartment without another word.

A sob breaks free, but I smother it with my hand and try to breathe normal, I'd rather be angry then sad, so I bite the inside of my cheek until I taste blood. The front door knocks, and I turn towards it hesitantly. Really, that's how long it took Leon to become sane again?

I swing the door open but it isn't Leon, a bunch of soldiers grab my arms as I kick out and try to fight back, but one shoves my head to the side and sticks a big needle in my neck, and I pass out instantly.

The first thing I notice when I wake up is how much my head hurts, the bright lights above me cause me to squint as my blurry vision begins to clear. I find that I'm sat on a metal chair in some sort of interrogation room, my own messy reflection stares back at me.

I try to stand up, but my legs won't let me, so I sigh and stay sat. Seconds later some soldier in all black walks in, I notice the Umbrella logo on his uniform. Figures.

"What do you know about the virus?" He asks, his voice muffled by the mask he's wearing.

I stare at him in confusion, unable to say anything. As quick as a flash he backhands me, a trickle of blood runs down my chin as I wipe my lip with the back of my hand, never lowering my chin.

"What do you know about the virus?" He repeats more urgently.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I say with a frown.

This time he steps forward and grabs a fistful of my hair, pulling my back back forcefully as pain shoots through me. "Fuck you!" I spit out as I kick his kneecap, he drops momentarily but then recovers and swings at me.

I duck as his fist hits the wall, creating a crack in the plaster. He looks at me and charges, his hand flies to my throat and grabs tightly.

The door flings open suddenly, and to my surprise Leon storms in, a gun raised as he shoots the solider with no hesitation. Blood splatters everywhere as I stare in shock, immediately Leon cups my face checking for injuries, his eyes darken when he sees the marks.

"I'm sorry I left you, it was a mistake, do you trust me?" He softly murmurs.

I nod. "Always."

His lips tilt into a small smile as he grabs my hand and leads me to safety, obliterating every obstacle in our path.
