"Hey, you can't just walk away again!" My ex snaps at me as I try to sidestep him. I hate that he's an agent too, and that we've been put on the same mission together yet again.

I sigh and glare up at him. "You were the one that walked away, remember, when you walked right into that other woman's bed?"

My ex rolls his eyes, giving me a look as if to say I'm delusional. "Not this again," he mumbles under his breath as he rolls his eyes.

I hear the rest of our group talking in the next room, probably discussing how we're going to get to our mission point past all the infected undead. I head to the doorway, but my ex grabs my arm and pulls me back.

"Listen to me!" He practically shouts, I'm shocked by his sudden outburst that I do the only thing I can think of...I punch him square in the face.

He stumbles back, a look of shock crosses his face before he grabs my jacket with both hands and pulls me to him.

"Get the fuck away from her!" My best friend Leon shouts from the doorway, my ex lets me go and Leon doesn't hesitate to stand in the middle, his arm holds me back protectively as he stares at my ex.

Moments later the rest of the team come in, probably wondering what all the commotion is about. "You okay?" One asks me with a concerned look. I nod, pulling at Leon's arm.

"Just leave it, he's not worth the time." I mumble, slightly worried what Leon's planning.

Reluctantly Leon's shoulders slump and he gives me a nod, grabbing my hand and turning to leave.

"That's right, just follow her around like you always have, maybe this time she'll open her legs for you." My ex retorts with a smug look on his face.

Milliseconds later Leon's swiveled around and punched my ex with so much force he falls backwards against the wall, Leon puts his arm to his neck, shoving him hard.

"You should have more respect for her." Leon deeply mumbles as the team tries to pry him off, I leave the room, heading outside even though I'm alone in a rainy city full of undead, I'd rather be out here.

The door opens moments later making me jump. "Sorry," Leon mutters running a hand over his face, "are you okay?"

I nod, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, he's an asshole, he never used to be. I think joining the team made him that way."

"Stop making excuses for him." Leon tells me, joining my side as he looks down at me.

"What did he mean?" I ask after a few moments. Leon frowns in confusion. "When he said you've always followed me around."

Leon's eyes widen briefly, "Nothing," he mutters, avoiding my eyes, "he's just saying crazy shit."

I don't believe him, but I shrug and look out into the parking lot for signs of trouble. There's none.

"I wish I'd met you before I got with him." I mumble, giving Leon a small smile.

Leon looks at me with hope. "Like a dating thing?"

I shrug a shoulder. "You're a good guy, we get along well and it's always been at the back of my mind, I've always wondered what it'd be like, a relationship between us." Leon's face is full of something I can't describe, maybe confusion?

"Forget I said it." I awkwardly mumble, waving him off as I go to step back inside.

"I've wondered the same thing," Leon quickly replies, "I've wondered for some time now."

A smile tugs my lips as I nod slowly, "Maybe when we're back home we could do something, like go out for dinner?"

Leon smiles, "I'd like that."

With that we both head back inside.
