Eira awoke to the sound of the running sink water and the light hum of voices in the cabin. She shakes the daze away and looks around the room in a new light. The brown stain of the wood paints the room in a beautiful morning hue, and Eira cant wipe the tired smile that plays across her lips as she stretches her arms over her head.
She takes her turn in the bathroom, showering and getting ready to the fullest extent. She pulls her long brown hair into a ponytail and tugs on the new Camp Half Blood shirt she got from Luke and looks at her reflection in the mirror.
She couldn't deny the fact that it did in fact, fit her perfectly.
She ties on her worn combat boots and despite the cold weather, decides to leave her sweater draped across her cleanly made bed along with a few of her things scattered across the neat surface of the tucked sheets.
Eira exits the cabin and the cool breeze blows her ponytail and rattles her brand new pair of earrings against her neck. This new day brings a comforting chill to her skin and she appreciates the fact that regardless of what she experienced yesterday- and the fact she didn't even get to finish the one thing she has been working towards this entire year- she felt content. Eira felt whole, for the first time in a long time.
After wandering around the cabin area, looking at each and every structure representing the gods, she finds what she believes to be the Athena cabin, A neatly kept exterior with an owl carved over the arched doorway.
She raps her knuckles on the cool wood and is surprised when it is thrown open before she can meet the door a third time.
Annabeth stands there, a large hoodie draped over her head. Her blond hair sends curly strands astray on both sides of the hood she appears to have put on to try and hide it all, her eyes widen when she sees who had knocked this early in the morning, "Eira! Come in let me get some real clothes on. Aren't you freezing?"
Eira cant help but laugh at the disheveled mess of her friend standing in front of her, she assumes Annabeth is not typically a morning person. "No, I'm not cold." she steps into the cabin and gapes in surprise at the difference in interior it has to the Hermes cabin she found herself sleeping in last night.
Bookshelves line the walls on both sides of the girls. Worktables with tools, pens, and paper, are found all over the inside, each one sporting its own set of blueprints or notes. The cabin is neat on the surface, but Eira notices the random objects thrown astray, like the 3 different History of Mythological Creatures books on Annabeth's nightstand- each open to a different point, like she has picked up and left off on completely different parts in each one.
Eira takes one of the books and sits on Annabeth's bed. She flips through the pages absentmindedly, learning bits and pieces of a world she has been thrown into against her right mind. A world full of monsters and gods makes it difficult for her to blend in, which is what she has done her whole life.
She, again, thinks about how little she feels she knows about herself. If someone had asked her even yesterday morning, never in a million years would she had thought she would do something like this- leaving everything she knows to pick up at a place away from home, drawing unwanted attention and throwing herself into situations in which she feels stuck.
Before she can begin to worry herself with her raging thoughts again, Annabeth comes out of the bathroom and interrupts her thinking with the toss of a light sweater "At least put this on, its freezing out there."
Eira doesn't argue with her. She puts the light cardigan over her camp t-shirt and watches Annabeth put on a jacket and a pair of boots that look similar to hers. "So, today is the grand tour, am I correct?"
