"When we were five, they asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. Our answers were things like astronaut, president, or, in my case, a princess. When we were ten, they asked again. We answered rock star, cowboy, or, in my case, a gold medalist. But now that we've grown up, they want a serious answer. Well, how about this? Who the hell knows? This isn't the time to make hard-and-fast decisions. This is the time to make mistakes. Take the wrong train and get stuck somewhere. Fall in love a lot. Major in philosophy because there's no way to make a career out of that. Change your mind, and change it again, because nothing's permanent. So, make as many mistakes as you can. That way, someday, when they ask what we want to be, we won't have to guess. We'll know."

Jessica's speech was amazing. I knew she would write a good one. Graduation was finally over. My Dad couldn't be any prouder. He even stood up and cheered when me and Bella were called on stage.

The party was beautiful, I don't know how long it took the Cullens to set up, but everything was amazing

The party was beautiful, I don't know how long it took the Cullens to set up, but everything was amazing. There was a giant buffet table, and most of the rooms were lit up by fairy lights.

We met up with Jessica and Angela at the party. Bella didn't think it was important to dress up for it, but I surely did.

"You made it!" Angela said, giving us a hug
"Hey. What did you think of my speech? Too easy-breezy? Too help-helpful? You hated it?" Jessica asked
"No. I think you pretty much nailed it." Bella told her
"I loved the speech, Jessica," I told her
"Yeah? It's like I was born to lead, right?" She said
"I love this song! Let's go." Angela said, pulling Jessica into the dance floor

Me and Bella were going to look for everyone, and when we did, we ran into Jake and some of his friends.
"Guess his face is better," I said, glaring at him

"What are you doing here?" Bella asked after they walked up to us.
"You invited me, remember?" He said
I didn't much care for his snarky tone.
"Was my right hook too subtle for you? That was me uninviting you." Bella told him
"Want your nose broken again, Black?" I asked him, stepping forward a bit. Bella put her hand on my arm to keep me from hitting him again.
"Look, Bella, I'm sorry about, you know, the kiss and your hand. I'd blame it on the whole inner animal thing, but it was really just me being an ass. I'm really sorry." He said
"You got that right," I said, rolling my eyes.
"I brought you two something." He said, pulling two bracelets out of his pocket. Bella's had a small wolf carved on it, and mine had a button carved on it.
"A graduation present. I made them myself."
"Wow. You made this? It's really pretty." Bella said to him
"Big deal, he can carve wood and make a bracelet. I still don't trust you, Jake. You're on my shit list right now." I said, glaring at him
"I wouldn't expect anything else, Bug."

Bella saw Alice on the stairs. I guess she had another vision.
"Alice, what did you see?" We asked at the same time.
"The decision's been made." She told us
"What's going on?" Jake asked, coming up behind us.
"You're not going to Seattle?" Bella asked
"No. They're coming here." Alice told us

We gathered everyone in one of the spare rooms.
"They'll be here in four days," Alice said to everyone
"This could turn into a bloodbath," Carlisle said
"Who's behind it?" Edward asked
"I didn't see anyone I recognized. Maybe one." Alice said to everyone
"I know his face. He's a local. Riley Biers. He didn't start this."
"Whoever did is staying out of the action."
"They must be playing with the blind spots in your vision."
"Either way, the army is coming, and there aren't enough of us to protect the town."
"Hold up. What damn army?" Jacob butted in
"Newborns. Our kind." Carlisle informed him
"What are they after?"
"They were passing around Bella and Elijah's scent. A red blouse and a yellow sweater." Alice told us

I could feel Rosalie's grip on me tighten. She was scared for me, I couldn't blame her I was scared too.
"They're after the twins? What the hell does this mean?" Jake asked
"It means an ugly fight, with lives lost," Carlisle said
"All right. We're in."
"No. You'd get yourselves killed. No way." Bella told them
"I wasn't asking for permission."
"Watch your tone, Black." I snapped at him
"Edward?" Bella asked, looking at him
"It means more protection for you and Elijah." He said, obviously not giving her the answer that she wanted.

'What, he gives you a bracelet, and suddenly you're best buds again?' I thought, rolling my eyes
"Jacob, do you believe Sam would agree to an understanding?" Carlisle asked
"As long as we get to kill some vampires. Plus, Bug is in good with the whole pack. I'm sure he'd come just for him." Jake said, glancing my way
"Jasper?"
"They'll give us the numbers. Newborns won't know they even exist. That'll give us an edge." Jasper told us
"We'll need to coordinate."
"Carlisle, they're gonna get hurt." Bella butted in
"We'll all need some training. Fighting newborns required knowledge that Jasper has. You're welcome to join us." Carlisle offered Jake
"Alright. Name the time and place." Jake said

This was good, right? Having the wolves meant more muscle and a better advantage. Sure, they may not get along, but it's for the sake of the towns, right? I hope everything is going to be okay.

At least I would get to see the pack again.
