The next morning Bella and I were going around putting small droplets of blood around the forest. It was Bella's idea to try to lure the newborns to the opening.

"If we get sepsis from this, I'm suing your boyfriend," I told Bella as I rubbed my finger on a branch.
She rolled her eyes playfully, "You aren't gonna get sepsis."
"I'm just warning you. It's not like he isn't a billionaire anyway. He can afford to lose a few thousand."

We walked back over to where Edward was waiting for us to take us to the campsite.
"You're going overboard." He told her
"It's just a few drops; we've lost more before. Hell, Bella loses more than that every month." I said with a smirk
"Shut up, Eli. If this is all I can contribute, I wanna be thorough." She told Edward
"The newborns will be frantic." He told her, grabbing her hand and staring at her bleeding finger
'Weirdo.' I thought, knowing he was listening
"It's okay. Don't make yourself uncomfortable." She told him
"It doesn't bother me anymore." He said
'Then why are you staring at her bleeding finger?'
"Since when?" She asked
"Since I spent 24 hours thinking you were dead."
'Yeah, and whose fault was that?'

"You're not wearing your ring." He said, finally noticing she hadn't been wearing it.
Earlier that morning, Bella showed me the ring Edward had given her. The thing was ugly as shit. It was huge and definitely didn't match Bella at all. But, she likes it, so, whatever.

"Well, I didn't want to risk losing it." She told him
"It's in my pocket." I showed him pulling it out.
"Or risk Jacob seeing it." He said with a stupid smirk
'Who cares what he thinks? They ain't together. Never have been, never will be.'
"I think we should wait to tell him," Bella said

I walked away, I couldn't stand their drama fest. They'll come get me when it's time to go. Instead, Leah got me and said we were going up the mountain now.

"Alice said there's a storm coming." I heard Edward say as we got closer
"Yeah, I can feel it. We should get going," Jacob said, trying to sound cool
'Okay, X-man, calm down. We can see the clouds in the damn sky' I rolled my eyes; he was trying so hard to be 'Alpha Male' it was just annoying. I thought he turned down being alpha for a reason. Why is he still trying to act all big and bad?
'I'll huff and puff and blow your house down, built ass.'
