We were all gathered in an opening in the woods near the border. The Cullens were already training, mostly Emmett getting thrown by Jasper. I was standing to the side with Rose telling her how excited I was for my friends to meet her. Emmett just got thrown for the 100th time by the time Bella and Edward finally decided to show up. A second later, the pack showed up on the hill near us.
"They don't trust us enough to be in their human forms," Edward told us "They came. That's what matters. Will you translate?" Carlisle asked Edward I waved at Paul and Leah; they nodded their heads toward me. Carlisle walked close to the wolves, "Welcome. Jasper has experience with newborns. He'll teach us how to defeat them." "They want to know how the newborns differ from us." Edward translated for us "They're a great deal stronger than us because their own human blood lingers in their tissues. Our kind is never more physically powerful than in our first several months of this life." Carlisle walked back over to Esme, letting Jasper take over.
"Carlisle's right. That's why they are created. A newborn army doesn't need thousands like a human army, but no human army could stand against them. Now, the two most important things to remember are, first, never let them get their arms around you. They'll crush you instantly. And second, never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that, and you will lose. Emmett." Jasper informed all of us, finishing off with calling Emmett over for yet another throw in the air.
"Don't hold back," Jasper told him as they "Not in my nature," Emmett told him before charging right at him Jasper obviously won, and after he smashed Emmett into the ground, he told him, "Never lose focus."
The Cullens all took turns fighting, mostly Jasper, because he was the most experienced and knew how to fight like a newborn. While they were doing that, I took Rosalie over and introduced her to Paul and Leah, obviously, they didn't say much, but I could tell they were trying to be nice for me.
"One more thing. Never turn your back on your enemy."
