A few weeks had passed since D finally met Steele's family and was already accepted into his family. Steele also finally met D's brother and sister for the first time. At first, they were skeptical because they knew D's had her heart broken and used a few times, but after getting to know Steele, they knew that he was not like the other guys D was with, well more like forced to be with. They too accepted Steele into their family.
D was currently at the cafe doing her shift while Steele was at the apartment. He was trying to think of a second date they could go on. They went on their first date, but was ruined by D's ex, Alec. This time, Steele is making sure that this date is not ruined by anyone. But first he had to figure out what their second date should be.
While he was thinking, something caught his eye. He turned his head and saw D's guitar. That's when an idea popped into his head. Why not sing a song for her? It's the perfect idea for a second date. When Steele was younger, he loved to sing. But his father did not, told him singing was for women. But that never stopped him. Steele smiled to himself and walked to his room. He headed over to his computer and searched up some songs he could sing to D.
As he scrolled through the web, one song came onto the screen that Steele knew was perfect. He clicked on the lyrics and practiced singing the song so he wouldn't forget the lyrics. The first week Steele moved in to live with D, he remembered hearing her play her guitar and sing. He thought she sounded beautiful. He was in awe of her talent. Well, it will be D's turn to be in awe of Steele's hidden talent.
It's been a few hours while I was practicing singing the song that I lost track of time. It was 4:30 and D gets off in 30 minutes. I finished practicing and I quickly got a shower so I was ready to go on our second date. I couldn't wait to surprise D. After I got my shower, I changed into some comfy yet decent clothes and sat on the couch waiting for D.
30 minutes passed when I heard the familiar key turning the lock sound. I turned my head and saw D walk in the door.
"Hey babe."
"Hey baby, how was work?" I asked her as I got off the couch.
"Tiring. Whatcha been up to?"
"Nothing much. How about you go freshen up and we can go out for our second date."
"Alright, sounds good." she told me with a smile.
I smiled back and watched her head to her room. I sat back down on the couch patiently waiting on her. I was so excited for our second date. After a few minutes, I saw D walk out of her room walking over to me with a smile.
"So, where we going for our second date?"
"It's a surprise, but you're going to love it." I told her as I took her hand. She smiled at me and we walked out of the apartment, making sure to lock it up before walking over to my motorcycle. I helped D get on before getting on myself.
I started the engine and drove out of the parking lot and drove through the city, heading to the beach. I felt D wrap her arms around me and I couldn't help but smile at her motion.
As Steele drove, I could tell we were heading out of the city heading towards the beach. I was confused by this because we didn't have any clothes that we could get wet in.
We finally reached the beach and parked his motorcycle. Steele helped me off before leading me to down to the beach. But we didn't go to the water, we walked over to a little sitting area where a campfire was currently burning. I looked at Steele with wide eyes. "Steele, this is beautiful."

"It is, but that's not all. Sit down."
I sat down on one of the logs, looking up at him. I was wondering what he was planning. He pulled out his phone and what looked like a portable speaker. Just then, music started playing. I looked at him in shock only to see him smiling back at me.

I listened to Steele sing, and he sounded amazing. He had such a smooth voice. I couldn't help the butterflies growing in my stomach hearing him. I honestly never knew he could sing until now. But the song he was singing, it was so beautiful, and I feel like it describes Steele and I completely.
When he finished, I clapped before jumping into his arms. I giggled as he caught me in his arms before looking up at him.
"Steele, that was amazing! I had no idea you could sing like that! I loved it!"
"I'm glad. It's been a while since I sang, I always loved singing as a kid, but my dad told me it was for girls. But I didn't listen. And this song, it was perfect for the two of us because it is us. When I first met you, it felt like I knew you as a kid and we grew up together. I love you so much D."
"I love you too Steele." I said as I leaned in closer to him.
He did the same before capturing my lips with his. This night was perfect. And I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the entire world. I want to stay here with him, in his arms.
