CHAPTER TWELVE.

THE PROMISE

———————

———————

"I can only remember parts. But I thought I was dead. That's what it felt like. I saw us, all of us together back in the cistern, but we were older. Like our parents' ages." Daniella said to her friends trying her best to remember what happened to her, when IT took her.

"W-what were we all doing there?" Bill questioned Daniella. "I just remember how we felt. How scared we were, I don't think I could ever forget that." Daniella said playing around with a small ring Bill gave her on her birthday.

Bill then picked up a broken glass before saying, "Swear it. S-swear if it isn't dead, if it ever comes back, we'll come back too."

Daniella rose from her seat on the log before Beverly stood up and so did everyone else. With that Bill took the glass he had and cut open his hand before doing the same to Richie, then Eddie's who's watch beeped, then Mike, Stanley, Ben, Beverly, and then Daniella.

Bill then connected his hands with Daniella and Richie before everyone else did the same. The losers all stayed like that for a while before they let go implicating their pact as a group.

"I gotta go. I hate you" Stanley said looking at Bill up and down, before breaking out into a smile, laughing along with the losers. "I'll see you later."

"Bye Stan."

Then Eddie began to leave saying his goodbyes to the group, along with Mike who left with a "See you later losers"

"Bye Mike."

"Bye Dani."

Then Richie who got hugged by Daniella before he left. Ben left with the rest of them saying goodbye, leaving Bill, Beverly, and Daniella.

"You all packed for Portland Bev?' Daniella asked curiously towards her redhaired friend who was moving. "Yeah pretty much. I'm going tomorrow morning."

"How long will you be g-gone?" Bill asked, causing Beverly to turn over to Bill, who was on her right, leaving Daniella on her left.

"My aunt, she says I can stay for as long as I want, so."

"Just so you know, I never felt like a loser when I was with all of you."

Daniella tried her best not to feel like she was third wheeling but she was also trying not to seem jealous. I can't feel jealous she told herself, not with what happened over the summer without the rest of the loser's.

"See you around" Beverly Marsh said, getting up from her spot and heading towards the woods behind them.

Their was silence between the two best friends, not uncomfortable silence, much to their surprises.

"I should probably head home, see you later Bill" Daniella's voice spoke out loud breaking the comfortable silence. She cradled her cut hand in front of her carefully, trying not to stain her new pastel dress.

While focusing on her hand she didn't hear the footsteps behind her before Bill grabbed ahold on her elbow, causing the girl to turn around.

And it was like time slowed down for the both of them, Bill suddenly placed his soft lips against Daniella's once more, taking her by surprise.

Her eyes shut softly before moving her lips against his slowly. Her cut hand placed on his cheek, ever so slightly they pulled away looking at each other taking in what had just happened. Identical smiles both on their faces before Daniella eventually brought her hand away from his face.

Boldly she takes a step closer once more giving him a quick peck on his lips once more before turning to walk away, leaving the Denbrough boy awestruck from the Claire girl's beauty.

Daniella still walking away, with a small smile, at peace with how everything turned out to be.

IT was finally gone, right?
