CHAPTER 14

     Lee had told Aurora everything that had transpired and begged her to forgive him for trying to push her away. She had every right to be angry and he knew he needed to do much more than just say sorry. At least she was laying on his chest petting him while she called him names he surely deserved. He could tell she was holding something back from him; he could always tell with his Aurora.

"What is it, baby? Just tell me, how bad could it be? You already called me a fucking imbecile-stupid-motherfucker-cunt-bucket, how much worse could it be?"

Aurora laughed a little. "Sorry about that, but you kind of deserved it"

"I did deserve it, baby. What's on your mind, babe?"

"I'm...I'm scared Lee. Is this baby going to kill me? Am I gonna give birth to a wolf puppy? Can I even have this baby? Will he survive?"

Lee could feel Aurora's anxiety rising and her body was shaking softly. He felt the coldness of her tears fall on his chest. He sat up and grabbed her face so she could see him clearly.

"You have nothing to be afraid of baby. Shifter babies are often born out of human mothers. The baby will grow inside you just like any other human baby, pretty much. Shifter babies are born in their human form and don't usually shift until they are about 6 months. You might need some extra care but there is a healer in my pack that will make sure you have everything you need."

"In your pack, but what about in California?"

"I don't want you to leave Aurora, I want you to be my mate. We are going to have a family. Don't you want that?" he said scared that she was planning on leaving him.

"I do want that but what about my job and school? I have an internship already planned with the zoo. You know my dream is to become a vet."

"I know a vet here, he treats the farm animals. You have your pre-vet degree, I'm sure I can convince him to take you on as an apprentice. You can earn from him how to be a vet and hell I'll hire you myself! You can be the Lee Wolf Farm's in-house vet. You can also be the pack's vet. I want you to live with me in the pack lands, somewhere deep in the Rockies. You will love it, it is the most beautiful place I have seen. If you want I can also tell our healer to teach you about shifter health, so you can help him."

"What if they don't accept me? I am not a shifter after all."

"They will once we are mated. They will know that you are committed to the pack. Of course, it is your decision. As much as I would like to tell you what to do, I know you enough to know how ill-advised that would be."

"How can you think of a solution to everything so quickly?" she asked marveling at how her future could be crumbling in her mind a few hours ago and now it seemed full of possibilities.

"I thought keeping you away was the answer but I need to allow myself happiness too. Some days I don't think I deserve happiness but seeing you again and feeling this love again I find myself being selfish. I want you Aurora. I was already thinking of excuses for why I should call you when Todd called me. I missed you like crazy and just the thought of having a little baby with you it's so fucking amazing!" he said beaming.

"Aren't you scared?"

"Oh, I'm petrified babe. Are you kidding me? I'm gonna be a dad. I'm gonna love you and that baby till the day I die, even if you choose to leave. I don't want you to leave, I want you to stay here with me as my wife, my mate. Will you Aurora? I have loved you forever and I want to give you forever. Is not gonna be easy and it might be dangerous at times but I pledge to protect you and our children with everything I have. Once upon a time, you gave me my name, I think it's about time I return the favor, Ms. Aurora Wolf. What do you say? Will you do me the honor of becoming my mate, my wife?

Aurora looked into his beautiful eyes, shining with unshed tears and she had her answer. "Yes Lee, I will be your mate and I too will love you and this baby forever."
