Lunchtime for Aurora was beginning to morph into Nap time. Two days had passed since she had spoken with Margueritte on the phone. Two days of waiting for anything from Lee and still nothing. At this point, she would be happy to get a good night's text from him. She was so sleepy that whenever she stopped moving she dozed off. She wanted to call him but that was not a good idea. After her last xoxo text to Lee, she received a not-so-friendly call from her mother. She pretty much told her to cut off communication with Lee. In her words, she had done her duty and now it would just be stupid to keep any kind of connection with Lee. She even had the gall to apologize for using her to lure Lee back to the SSP. Aurora had been so angry she had wanted to curse her mother out, but she didn't. She didn't want to mess up Lee's plan in any way. Her mom's call just corroborated the fact they were keeping tabs on Lee's phone. She was moving her own pieces behind the scenes as well. There was no vet school in Montana but she could get a vet degree in South Dakota which was way closer than California. Of course, there was no real assurance that she would even be accepted. Then of course there was the whole job thing. She had been extremely lucky in getting her job at the zoo, especially because they were already on board with her doing her practicum there when the time came for that during her degree. The fact that Martha was one of the main zoo vets had a lot to do with that. While sitting in front of her laptop trying to make the pieces of her happily ever after fit she just broke down into tears. Life was so not fair, a happy ending never seem that hard in the movies or her romance books. She wanted to be Lee's woman, she didn't want to lose him again. Why couldn't things be easier? Nothing worthwhile comes easily, she couldn't recall who said the quote but she just wanted to punch them in the face! She decided to apply to the Vet school in South Dakota State University anyway. She needed to request that transcript anyway so might as well ask for two. If Lee wasn't so Lee, she would just forget about the whole damn degree deal, but she knew him enough to know that he would never let her do that.
