Eager to kill, V makes the threat she poses known as her wings spring open. Her hands retract and return as blades, slicing across the concrete and surrounding her in sparks. She surges forward, wildly grinning as she rapidly flies toward the Worker. Caught off-guard by V's enthusiasm, Wesson takes out his father's wrench and throws it at full force, hoping to cause the tiniest diversion to buy him time to arm himself. The wrench spins through the air... proving far more effective than intended.

V's charge is interrupted as bright yellow liquid fires out of the central bulb on her headband, the wrench making its mark and burying inside her head. She loses flight, staggering to the ground and sliding before catching herself, burying a sword into the concrete, and stopping. She launches herself off the ground, arming a machine gun with one hand and attempting to pry the wrench free with her other. Wesson has successfully readied his railgun, looking up to see V aiming down at him...

Near-completely disregarding her status, V rains a barrage of bullets down on the Worker. However, her aim is far from accurate, as her vision is distorted by the damage the wrench has inflicted. Regardless, she successfully lands a few shots through accuracy by volume of fire. Wesson is knocked off balance by the force of the bullets' impacts, but... they all seem to bounce off some invisible force protecting him. Neither drone notices in the heat of battle, but... a strange symbol flashes on Wesson's visor with every deflected shot. Suddenly, V ceases her gunfire, diving toward him and baring her claws, completely giving up on removing the wrench.

Wesson stumbles to his feet, using his railgun as leverage to leap off the ground. He'd only intended this as a dodge, but he miscalculated this on-the-fly maneuver, accidentally landing atop V's head and stomping the wrench deeper into her skull. V's systems briefly go dark as she loses control, tumbling into the wall ahead. Her vision returns to her shortly after, watching upside-down as Wesson approaches her, railgun in hand...

Simultaneously, Z drops to the ground, digging her claws into the concrete and accelerating towards J. In anticipation, J lets her autocannon hit the ground again, arming herself with a sword just as Z lunges at her. She catches J's sword with her teeth and is promptly launched into the air, rendered vulnerable. J raises her autocannon, training the sights on Z's head. All it takes is one... good...—

...Nothing happens. Nothing, except for smoke silently emitting from the barrel.

J — "Nrrgh, mother of company leadership retreats! Now is not the time for a malfunction!" She bashes her fist against the autocannon. "Work, damn it!"

The autocannon obliges J's demands, successfully firing...

...a bundle of purple holographic hearts that flutter through the air.

J — "F-Fourth quarter profits! Not like—!"

She swiftly exchanges the autocannon with an EMP instead, immediately charging it. She's unable to complete her exclamation as Z lands before her, causing her to panic. She releases the EMP charge to subdue the drone, failing to recall that Disassembly Drones are constructed to be immune to such effects. Z leaps toward her, the warehouse lights flickering as the bright blue wave of energy travels, knocking out any electronics it touches...

Wesson stops in front of V, hesitantly raising the railgun to her. He doesn't know if he's ready to do this again. But... she hurt Doll... and probably others he hadn't witnessed. She was a threat to the entire colony. He has to. For a second longer, he looks down at V, her returning a wide, crazed grin in anticipation of her demise. Then, he pulls the—
