"JESUS CHRIST!" The girl screamed as she turned around to see the slightly taken aback man standing near her. The girl was clutching her chest as if she were to go into cardiac arrest at any moment. Immediately she recognized the man as the one she had fallen asleep on during the screening of the show.
"Well, that was a lovely way to first officially meet someone." The man sarcastically replies, leaning on the railing next to the girl. They both stand there, facing each other for awhile in silence, it isn't awkward or anything, it's a comfortable kind of silence. Something Alia is not used to.
She takes in the man's features in good light, for the first time. He wasn't terribly tall, but neither was she. He had a slender build, long limbs, Bella Hadid cheekbones, and hollow cheeks decorated with freckles. He had sleepy dark brown eyes, a square face and sharp jawline, bushy eyebrows, and perfectly tamed to untamed curly dark brown hair. Alia couldn't help but notice how awkward he looked, but in an attractive sort of way. He wore a frilly satin black shirt, grey pants and a cute slight smirk-like smile on his lips.
The man took in the girl's features, he'd noticed her before. Not in a creepy sort of way but he's seen the girl a lot, and while they'd never actually had a conversation until now both knew very much about each other. He noticed her fake rosy cheeks, and full cherry lips. He noticed the elaborate and intricate tattoos on her arms and hands, her glittery eyeshadow and a dress that in dim light could be mistaken for a disco ball, sparkling from afar. She was nothing short of beautiful. The prettiest girl he'd ever seen.
"I forgot about that." Alia finally said breaking the silence. "About what?" The man asked. "About us never actually having a conversation with one another, despite knowing each other for 2 years." The girl replied, she had her arms resting on the building's rails, looking carefully and thoughtfully into the city streets full of life from the quiet rooftop. While the girl admired NYC's nightlife from a different view, the man admired the girl from a different view.
"Yeah, I guess today's the day we change that. How do you even start a conversation with someone? We should play 21 questions." He looked at Alia with great enthusiasm, once she agreed on what they were to do, both started researching questions. First was Alia's turn, "Finn Wolfhard, what is your biggest fear?" she asked curiously, to which he replied with deep open sea, then he went on a 20-minute rant on how much being stranded at sea would scare him, he talked non stop for 20 minutes straight, and was not once interrupted, that hadn't happened in a while. Finn couldn't remember the last time someone let him just talk, it was nice to be listened to for once, rather than just being the listener.
Each of them ended up asking the other 40 questions, and both ended up sitting on the floor, leaning against a wall. They checked the time, it was 2 am. They had been talking for more than 2 hours. At first, they both freaked out, over the idea of just vanishing from the place without anyone's knowledge, but then they burst into laughter at the thought it off. After checking her phone Alia realized that Elliot had left without her and with his car, the one he used to drive them both here. How typical.
"I could drive you home if you needed," Finn told Alia whilst they were walking outside, around drunks who were still partying, past people passed out on the floor and tables, and past people throwing up on the sidewalks. There wasn't really any other option. While in the car Finn and Alia talked about everything they didn't cover back on the rooftop, they talked about Alia's pets a wired Jack Russell named Bean, and her Cockatiel named Bertram, or as she affectionately called him "Birtie". They talked about Finn and him being from Canada, and Alia's experience as an immigrant. While in the car Alia decided to post on Instagram.

By the time Finn had driven Alia home and left her house, it was 5 am. They talked for 2 hours on the roof, 30 minutes in the car, and around 3 hours in Alia's apartment, where Finn was able to meet her feathered and furred children. While they'd only actually known and met each other for only a couple of hours, somehow they'd made one another feel as if that friendship had lasted years, as if they were long-distance friends finally face to face talking to each other for the first time in months, like they'd been friends since the first time they locked eyes 2 years ago. Funny that only in a couple of hours can you manage to make a lifelong friendship with someone who you'd been too scared to talk to for 2 years. Funny that you can create a bond that feels like it's lasted a lifetime in hours.
