The girl sat on her bed, her face blotchy, red and swollen. The warm light of the hallway seeping through the crack in the half closed door. The room was icy cold, quietly the muffled sounds of NYC traffic and depressing music filled the room. The girl's breath was heavy as she tired to calm herself, tissues sprinkled the bed and nearby floor. As her breaths slowly paced she fell back onto the soft warm bed, she lay in the fetal position, her hands holding her heart as if it were about to break into millions of pieces. Her body ached for rest, but her mind ached for answers.
He was the reason she cries, the reason she couldn't sleep. While she blamed him, it was her own fault she let him leave her like this. The bed stayed occupied by 1, the bed he promised he would be in tonight. But he wasn't there, because he had fallen asleep next to someone else. His name was Elliot - the boy who had fucked up her life. She was so naive to call her friends crazy when they told her he was bad news. The girl he was seeing tonight was one of his more serious side pieces, they've had a fling for 2 years now. But she and Elliot had stayed dating, after all of it, after endless cheating rumours, some turned out to be true, others purely media speculation. And even now she knew he was with others, she stayed, like a fly stuck in a spider's web. A web of ignorant excuses and carelessness with her heart. But what she hated most about the man, was that she still loved him.
Alia lay awake for many hours, hating herself for loving someone who never really loved her back, and never will. Every now and again she would check her phone, check the post, the one she knew some thought was just another cheating rumor or speculation, but what she knew to be him getting bored of her once more.

enews: Actor Elliot Stephans, and model Bella Carter caught leaving the same resturant after a suspected night out. This comes only a couple weeks since Elliot's last cheating rumour. Although neither Alia Martinez, or Elliot have confirmed nor denied the speculations. According to the source Bella and Elliot wanted to avoid any speculations so, Carter first left the LA resturant at 11:50pm, and Stephans shortly after through the back exit at 11:53pm. It wasn't the act of cheating that hurt Alia tonight, because after it happens so many times it hurts less. She'd been through worse, and knowing that not everything enews has to say is true helped. But what hurt today is that he had no shame, he didn't bother to hide it, or lie his way around it. That hurt.
Usually, Elliot would make up stupid excuses, in attempts to gaslight Alia and the media. But tonight was different, because tonight there wasn't any elaborate plan to hide it and disguise it as a mere coincidence, they made out, they sat at the same table, and they did it all at Elliot and Alia's restaurant. The place they called theirs the place they shared their first date, their first kiss, everyone of their anniversaries.
They weren't just fucking this time, they were on a date. She never blamed the women that Elliot would cheat on her with, the only woman she would blame was herself. But tonight she blamed 3 people, Elliot for cheating so carelessly, Bella for going along with him, and herself. For everything else. For being stupid enough to trust him, for being naive enough to believe him, and for being dumb enough to love him. But keeping her mind away from sleep tonight, was the event that would take place tomorrow.
She knew that after the event, all would forget about tonight, all except her. She'd remember it. The media would pass it off as another rumor or allegation because when they see his hands all over her tomorrow when they see her fake smile and their perfect couple act, they'll forget of anything else. That'll be enough confirmation for them to believe that the events of tonight were coincidental, and she hated that. She knew it would happen tomorrow because it happens every time. Every. Damn. Time.
