Alaya
"No, you're weird!"
"Man, you are the king of weirdness."
"Well it takes a weirdo to know a weirdo. Weirdo!"
I can't hold in the fit of giggles bubbling to the surface and I end up laughing so hard at Michaels comeback that I almost drop my phone. This is probably the most childish conversation I have had with a man. But I can't help but smile.
I met Michael online through mutual friends a few weeks ago. Come to find out, we run in a lot of the same circles, but we have never met in person officially. And he's also a native Tampa."So, Alaya, what is..." Michael pauses as he considers his next question. I put him on speaker and begin to browse my twitter feed as he ponders what to ask me. Scrolling through my feed, I see he has posted a tweet: "Is it too early to say she's perfect? Yes? No? Maybe? Who cares. :D"

Mike: So when will I get to see you in person to confirm that you are who you say you are? O_o
Alaya: Lol well I get off at 6 and I don't do much of anything after work. Your move.
Mike: My move??? Hmm...ok. How about tomorrow?
Alaya: Hmm....let me check my schedule >_>
Mike: Lol ok *waits patiently*
Alaya: I think I can fit you in tomorrow. Say around...6:15?
Mike: Perfect. Do you drive to work or should I pick you up?
Alaya: Well see...the way this part time job is set up...I take the bus ( ,._.)
Mike: Lol nothing wrong with public transportation. I can get you from work.
Alaya: How about from the bus station. Downtown is central to us both. Meet halfway?
Mike: Deal. See you then, beautiful. ^_^

Of course a thunderstorm begins to hit as I'm waiting outside. Glad it's not too windy, though. I sit and wait on a bench for Mike to pull up. My nerves are a wreck. I can't believe I'm so nervous to meet him. I feel my phone buzz and see that it's a text from Mike.
Mike: Sooooooo...what color are you wearing?
Alaya: Brown. I'm sitting inside the thingy for the Dale Mabry bus. What color car should I look for?
Mike: Black Cadillac. I'm here.
I look around and see 4 black cars. 2 of which are a Cadillac. And then I see one car door open. My heart stops as my nerves take over and I lose all sense of time. I walk over to the car and he has the biggest smile on his face. It felt like it took me 5 minutes to walk 10 feet. Was it only a few seconds? I don't know. But his smile...
He grabs me and gives me a bear hug and spins me around. I'm breathless and giggling by the time he sets me back on my feet. It's like we are old friends who haven't seen each other in years.
"Hi..." Michael says, gazing into my eyes.
"Hi." He finally let's me go and extends his hand.
"My name is Michael Roberts. Nice to meet you."
I shake his hand in return.
"Alaya Everett. The pleasure is all mine."
