Alaya
"It's been a little over a month since me and Michael have been dating. He is such a sweet guy. Last week he took me to my favorite Botanical Garden in the park and we took pictures together." I blush.
"Sounds like you're already whipped, girl!" Stacia says laughing at me.
Stacia is my best friend. We've know each other since we were kids and have been inseparable since 2nd grade.
"Shut up! Like you can talk. Jason has your nose wide the fuck open, ho!" I say laughing.
"And you're right!" She admits.
A text notification beeps in my ear and I put Stacia on speaker while I reply.
Mike: Hey beautiful. I miss you.
Alaya: I miss you too! What are you doing?
Mike: Working on a new piece. Picked up a commission the other day.
Alaya: Ooooohhh can I see?!
"LILO!!!" Stacia yells.
"Huh?! Oh shit, I'm sorry girl. Mike just texted me."
"Bye, bitch. Go ahead and get your Betty Crocker on." She teases.
"Ha Ha, very funny, Aunt Jemima. Love you, sis."
"Love you too!" She hangs up.
Mike: You really wanna see it?
Alaya: Hells yea I do!
Mike: Ok...I'll be there in 5. See you soon, baby. ;-*
The best thing about dating Mike is he's a 5 minute drive away from my apartment. So regular visits are easily made. I jump up and run to my closet to find something decent to wear. After 2 minutes of rummaging, I decided on a simple white and grey graphic tee and jeans with my grey levy sneakers. I rush to the bathroom and position a knitted bonnet over my premature baby locs while smearing on some lip gloss. After smoothing my shirt with my hands to knock out some of the wrinkles, Mike knocks on my door. And just like every time I see him, his smile leaves me breathless.
"Hi..." I breathe. He smiles his shy smile. My favorite smile.
"Hey. Ready?" He asks stepping to the side.
I grab his hand, and pull him towards me. Wrapping my arms around his waist, I kiss him, gently at first. What started out as an innocent "I miss you" kiss quickly transformed into a tangle of lips, tongues, and hands in the middle of my apartment hallway. Breathless, I back away and grab my coat.
"I am now."

Mike
Driving to my house, I find myself unable to stop touching her. I either grab her hand and rub my thumb across her knuckles. Or I rest my hand on her thigh. Or I lace our fingers together. Any form of contact. Her soft skin is addictive to the touch. I glance over as I stop at a red light and see her looking at me. She smiles but doesn't look away.
"What?" I say. I wonder what's behind that look she has in those beautiful almond shaped brown eyes of hers.
"Oh nothing. Just appreciating the view." She giggles and kisses the back of my hand. She's perfect.
Pulling into the driveway, I walk around to open her door. Her smile of appreciation still there as it always is when I open doors for her. She's told me once before that she's never dated a guy who did that for her consistently. So I made it my mission to do it regularly.
