Chapter 2 - Tower of Music

Naya woke up earlier than her friends and decided to take a walk in their neighborhood. She wrote a small note saying she went out for fresh air and will be right back and stick it on Kyujung's refrigerator. 

Thankfully, Kyujung's parents are nice and even welcomed them in their home. Have their maids prepare for their food and the sleeping bags last night. They thought her parent's were strict and snobbish as they are very wealthy. They had fun on their sleepover last night and Naya was pleased. She then wonders about Chelsea and how she's doing in their sleepover last night. 

She takes a walk in the neighborhood and it was peaceful and quiet. Maybe because it's a village. Everywhere you look, all the houses are huge. Rich people live in there including Kyujung. 

It was 6:08 in the morning and so no people was seen in the road. People are probably still sleeping. She walks slowly, breathing in the fresh air and suddenly she spotted someone in a distance. The person looks quite familiar. 

Suddenly, that someone catches her looking and so Naya looks away. Wait a second. She looks again and saw that it was one of her classmate before. That's why she looked so familiar. She was out early watering plants at the side of their house. So, she lives here. 

Her classmate called her name and motioning her to come. Naya was unsure whether to go or not. She doesn't even know why that classmate of hers longtime ago would want to talk to her. She clearly remembered that she and her don't like each other. She hesitated. 

But then, what's the harm of talking to her right? And just because she doesn't like her doesn't mean she has to be mean to her. Naya doesn't want to come across as rude so she slowly walked towards her classmate, waving at her with a small smile. 

"Hey, what's up, Candice?" 

Candice smiled at her and told her she was surprised to see her in their neighborhood. Naya then said that she and her friends were having a sleepover last night at one of her friend's house which is in that village. She told her she was also surprised to know that she lives in there. 

"Me and my family moved in here when i was in 8th grade. Since then, we stayed here because it's so peaceful." She explained as she has finished the watering. She then asked how Naya's doing after not seeing each other for along time which to Naya responded with her usual response, 'I've been good.' 

Candice went silent for a moment but then blurted out that she's sorry for being mean towards her before. Naya was surprised. She then gestures her hand, telling her it was before and it was long ago and they should just forget about it. Her classmate smiled at her genuinely and asked if they could be real friends now. 

Naya nodded at her, returning back the smile. It was a bit awkward for them and Naya didn't know what to say after that. So now they're friends. It feels weird to her and not just her. But for Candice also. 

She then thought of a question and asked her what she usually does during school break, hoping the awkward silence would slip off. Candice did not waste time and told her she's actually making music at the tower that her father made for her. Oh, wow. A tower just for her music. Wait, Candice making music? Naya have never thought of that. 

"Do you want to see it? It's just at the back of our house." 

The tower Candice's talking about seems interesting and she wanted to see.But would it take much time? Her friends are probably awake this time now.She's not sure about hanging out with Candice. Them being friends now feelsweird to her. And it would be weirder if they would spend time together. 

However, for Naya, what's important is seeing the tower and not what she's feeling. And she's curious on Candice's music. 

"Yes. Let's just be quick." Naya entered the gates after Candice and went inside their ground. She was in awe at their house and the garden. She looked around and saw that it's huge. They must be rich like Kyujung also. She then followed Candice at the back of their house and there stood a not so tall tower but tall enough to be called a tower. She gasped in amazement and excitedly went after her classmate, who has the keys on her hand. 

Soon, they're at the top and Naya was surprised to see how many CDs there are inside. Speakers, computer, the tune pad, piano, other instruments and other things. There were even books. She was amazed. How could her father afford all of that? Except her father brought her all of those one at a time. 

Candice told her that only the computer and piano are the things that her father bought her since he was also the one who spent money on building her tower. She was the one who bought the other stuffs with her hard-earned money. 

Hearing all of those stuffs from Candice made her totally amazed. She never thought that the mean girl from before who only cared about make-up and cosmetics actually loved music. The girl who was quite spoiled and seemed to be just sitting pretty at home actually had many part-time jobs just to buy all of those stuffs. How come she's suddenly changed? 

She smiled when Candice let her listen to one of her music. It sounded awesome. She was told that she has spent hours on making music. It's what she loves doing and she doesn't get tires of it. Naya then told her she could be a music producer someday which Candice responded with, 'If my Father would want me to, but i also have another dream.' 

As she said those words to Naya, Candice pointed towards where there is a computer with books beside it. Naya went over to what's written on the screen and saw that Candice is actually making a story. Hearing it all from her, made Naya be impressed by her. It's truly a new Candice. Did something happen to her before? 

Naya was then brought to Candice and their family's small house above the ocean. They have a bridge to cross there also. Candice's house is already huge and so is the lot. And they have a house on the sea. This is an interesting day for Naya. 

The gust of wind blew in their direction and it feels refreshing since the sea is just below the small house. Naya looked down and admired the view of the sea. Candice then pointed at a house at a distance on the sea also and said it's Yunji's house. One of their classmates before. Naya just nodded and enjoyed the view. 

Soon, Naya had to leave because her friends might be waiting for her now. It's been an hour and minutes she had been gone. She waved goodbye at Candice and told her she had a great time before walking off. 

Her mind changed about Candice. She didn't like her before and Candice feels the same. But what happened today made her saw Candice in a different light. It's either one of her sides of she has truly changed these past few years. 

If she didn't meet her friends yesterday, she wouldn't have experienced sleepovers at Kyujung's. If it weren't for Kyujung's though, she wouldn't have taken a walk in their neighborhood. And if she didn't do that and just waited for her friends to wake up an hour ago, she wouldn't have met Candice and would not see the way she's different now.
