Later that night, (Y/n) was in Ego's office along with Anri as he finished reading her report on the last team she made, which was Team Z. The girl waited patiently as he put the paper on Bachira down and spoke up.
"What is that monster thing Bachira mentioned? I tried to describe it as well as I could in the papers, but I was left more confused after." (Y/n) wondered as Ego kept quiet for a moment, then spoke up.
"He is probably talking nonsense." Was the simple answer, which left Anri and (Y/n) sweatdropping.
"And you say he looked honest while speaking about the monster inside of him?" The woman asked, raising her eyebrow.
"Yeah, I wouldn't say he is lying. Bachira-san doesn't seem like the type to lie or imagine stuff like that. Plus it seems too far-fetched for it to even be a lie, I really think there is more behind it."
"What makes you so sure of that?" Ego asked as (Y/n) shrugged her shoulders, eating a piece of orange Anri gave her.
"Gut feeling maybe? I don't know, but whatever that monster thing is in Bachira-san will probably make an appearance on the field. Maybe it's another way to describe egotistical gameplay." (Y/n) explained as Ego kept quiet for a moment.
'Just who did I even invite?' Anri sighed, a little creeped out with the way (Y/n) explained it so nonchalantly.
"Well, you better figure it out. Your next task is looking into it, I want to read everything you get on that case."
"Uh... isn't my job helping out the teams-"
"It's also getting as much information on the players as possible. Are you not fit for the role?"
The last part annoyed (Y/n) as she held back a frustrated sigh, but still gave him a tight smile.
"I can do that, Ego-san. By the way, Teieri-san can I ask you for some advice?" The woman nodded her head in confusion as (Y/n) got up and whispered something to her.
"Could you do that for me?" She asked at the end, letting Anri think for a moment.
"Sure, that won't be an issue." The woman smiled as (Y/n) clapped her hands excitedly, happy that some part of her plan is working.
The next day was finally the start of the first selection process. While Ego was explaining the plan to the teams, (Y/n) was in the field preparing everything for the upcoming match, feeling nervousness and excitement bubble up inside of her.
'I am so excited to see everyone play today... but I am terrified of Barou-san.' She thought, looking up at the announcement board, which read 'Team X' and 'Team Z'.
Turning her attention to one of the doors, (Y/n) saw that it was Team Z, looking even more nervous. Well except for Raichi, he looked ready to fight. Waving at the group, she was about to say something when another door opened, announcing Team X's arrival.
'Why are all of them so tall and scary at the same time?!'
Feeling her gaze on them, Barou raised an eyebrow and walked over to her, alerting Yoichi and Bachira.
"So you peasant are going to be watching the game today?" Moving away a little, (Y/n) nodded her head.
"Yeah... I am told to take care of everything concerning you guys." She explained nervously, his presence was very overwhelming after all.
"Hmmm just don't make too much ruckus, I want to be done with this as soon as possible." Barou muttered as Yoichi walked over to them, grabbing (Y/n)'s arm.
"Hey... Bachira and I need some help with our uniforms. Sorry to interrupt you guys." The boy said quickly as pulled (Y/n) along as Barou watched them in boredom.
"What's up with that guy? Does he have an issue with you?" Kunigami asked, noticing the commotion, all the while Bachira kept quiet as he was sending Team X weird looks.
"I don't know, he just seems to be looking for any excuse to have a fight." (Y/n) explained, shaking her head and then continued.
"Listen, just be careful around him. He looks terrifying now, but he is much worse on the field." The girl whispered.
"What do you mean by that?" Bachira's question came as the boy looked away from the taller.
"I don't know what it is... but it's like a new entity possesses him while playing. It's terrifying how good he is. I know you all are here because you are the best players in your schools, but he is something else."
(Y/n) answered Bachira's question. Kunigami slowly nodded his head as Yoichi fumed on the inside, sending side glares towards Barou.
