Eddie sighed as he looked at the stack of letters. All of them (not including Frank's letter from Eddie) were Julie and Wally's party invitations.
"Lucky me." He said, lifting the papers and stuffing them into his bag. He picked up the love letter.
Dear Frank,
Hi! It's me again. I hope you haven't gotten too bored or annoyed with me. I really like you, and I hope I could tell you who I was soon.
Love, your secret admirerNot his best one, but it was good enough. Eddie stuffed the love letter into his bag and left the post office.
(15 minutes later)
Eddie held his breath knocking on Frank's door. He held the cards in his hands, waiting. Frank opened the door.
"Is one of them from the secret admirer person?" He asked. Eddie, taken by surprise a bit, pretended to look confused at the two letters.
"I, think so." Eddie said.
"Just throw that one away, I don't care about them." Frank said, coldly. Eddie stared at him, shocked.
"Uhm...okay..." Eddie said, holding back tears. "Here's the other letter..." he closed the door, walking away. Eddie stared at the ground, trying not to cry.
"Hey Eddie! How'd it-" Julie stopped when she saw tears still streaming down Eddie's face. "Hey, what's wrong?"
"Hey...uh, n-nothings wrong!" Eddie said, wiping tears away with his sleeve.
"Clearly something's wrong, what happened?" Julie asked. More tears flooded down Eddie's face.
"Nothing! I just...got a little..." he looked down at the ground. "Stuff in my eyes..."
"I'm your best friend! You can tell me anything!" Julie said.
"It's...just..." Eddie sighed. "Frank said to throw the letter away because he doesn't care about them..."
"What?! No way! Nobody makes Eddie cry on my watch! I'm gonna bend his arms in so many w-" Julie ranted, storming to Frank's house.
"No! Julie, don't." Eddie said, holding Julie back. "Nothing will change if we just yell at him." Julie sighed.
"Sorry, you're right. Let's go to my house, and we can get snacks and stuff."
