“That means my daughter is going to be twenty-one soon?” Tomisin asked and Diana's mother nodded her head in response. “Who is Zoe's father?” she asked.

“Banji”

“Banji? Who is Banji?”

“Do you have two Banji? The same Banji who helped you in Abuja of course…”

“How possible is that?” she asked and Diana's mom explained all that she knew about her relationship with Banji from start to finish. “Mom? How could you advise me to keep such news from Banji? You know how tough it would be for him if he later finds out about the secret. What about dad? The church will be in an uproar when everything is exposed…remember no secret could be kept for so long… I didn't expect you to keep such a secret…”

“See who am doing favor o… If I have exposed you that you were pregnant back then, do you know the miserable life you would be living as Banji's wife? Do you think you could ever travel abroad? The church members will mock you and you would have brought misery and shame to this family…your father would suffer shame among other ministers of God… Banji wouldn't have traveled out of the country and wouldn't have come back as a successful businessman.”

“But mum, what will the society says when they finally find out that I had a child for Banji at teenage? If Zoe sees me, won't she ask of her father? How will Banji and his mum feel if they know I was having a child for their family? This is too much mum… It is too much to be kept a secret for so long.” Tomisin was so pissed off, that she stood up and left the room.

“Diana…you are walking out on me abi? Me that did you a great favor has now become a great enemy…” Diana's mother yelled at Tomisin who had left the room.

Bridget had been putting a tail on Femi from Nigeria to the United States, she was so sure that there was nothing between him and Zoe. She decided to seize this opportunity to take chances and have Femi all to herself. Because, she was really into Femi from the time she was introduced to him by her friend, Tomisin years back.

She followed him from the airport where he parted ways with Zoe down to the hotel where he had made reservations.

“Bridget, what a pleasant surprise!” he said cheerfully as they both shook hands in greetings. “I never knew you are here in America,” he said and Bridget pulled him into a hug on purpose.

“I was so surprised to see you here as well… How is my friend doing? I guess you came here for a business?” she asked, trying to find out if he was done with Tomisin.

“Not. I will be here for a year or so, it depends on the work at hand here. Because my dad's company's branch in New York City needed proper monitoring. So, that's why am here…”

“Don't tell me you are going to leave my friend for a year or more?”

“I guess your friend hasn't informed you yet. We divorce before I left the country…”

“Divorce? I don't get?” she asked in surprise. ‘So, Tomisin finally signed the documents…oh, everything is working out for my good.’ she said within herself.

“She finally signed the documents and am a free man.” Femi expressed.

Bridget feigned being sad about the news, but deep down, she was happy that her prayers has been answered. She can now have the chance to win Femi over to herself.

“What a pity! I can't believe the two lovebirds could be separated one day. I will need to talk to her over the phone as soon as am in my room. This is unbelievable.” she said playing with the handle of her luggage coyly.
