Kirishima looked like he had seen a ghost after hearing that.

"You're joking! That's impossible and-"

Katsuki had suddenly put a hand over his mouth, shutting the redhead up for the moment. "Have a bit of faith in me at least.. I'll be back home before you know it and with that freak's head. Got it?"

Kirishima nodded as a little smirk came onto Katsuki's face. "I've got this." He removed his hand and gave the other boy one last kiss, this one lasting just a little longer than the first.

"Wait for me." Katsuki whispered when he pulled away from him and with that last word and a little sigh. Bakugo left the room leaving kirishima alone with his thoughts and headed to the door where his old man was waiting patiently.

Just as Katsuki was about to open the door the older man suddenly pulled him into a tight hug. "I'm sorry.." He whispered. Katsuki froze at the contact at first but didn't hug him back as it would make parting harder on the young man but he had to do this for him and kirishima.

"I'm sorry. I couldn't make your birthday more memorable..or do much.." He spoke in a hushed tone as he kept hold of his son not really wanting to let him go though katsuki for once didn't get annoyed by this lingering contact instead just let it happen.

"Oh stop apologizing!" Katsuki raised his voice and narrowed his eyes at his father and finally broke away from the hug just as Kirishima finally came out of his room to see the ash blonde open the door.

"There's no point now and I'll be fine.." he stepped outside being greeted by the snowy weather and a carriage waiting for him.

The sound of snow crunching under his boots as he stepped to the carriage that would be taking him to the vampire kingdom.

Though the ash blonde was surprised to see his mother inside the carriage. "So you're seeing me off?" He grumbled as he sat across from her.

"Well of course. You are my son and I'm going to see you off and so is your father"  she said just as Masaru joined them, taking a seat beside his wife.

After everyone was settled. The carriage began to move and when the boy took a peek through the carriage window only to see kirishima who was the only person that bothered to even spare him in a glance in his departure let alone wave him goodbye which he was doing with a pained little smile on his face in which katsuki would return a small wave.

"What are you doing?' Mitsuki asked. "You realize you're wasting your time with that." She sighed. "No point in looking back."

Her husband opened her mouth to say something but would soon close his mouth and look away from the two as Bakugo simply scoffed in response, choosing to ignore the old hag during the ride though his old man would be quiet for a few more minutes before the older man decided to speak up though his attention was directed towards his son.

"I know you don't want this. No one does but you are doing a big favor for our village and I'm very sorry for being busy and this having to be our last moments together.."

Katsuki clicked his tongue and crossed his arms. "This whole damn tradition is stupid."

"Katsuki!" His mother hissed and shot her son a glare in which Katsuki would return as his father cleared his throat and joined the conversation.

"While I do agree.." Masaru started only to pause for a moment when his wife then shot him a glare causing him to give a nervous smile before he continued. "If it weren't for her.. not making contact with the vampire king then we would still be suffering and you probably wouldn't even be here."

The boy looked out the carriage window and rolled his eyes. "Oh please. She did more harm than good trying to make Peace between vampires and humans but now because of that bitch we have to give ourselves up or else the vampires will raid our villages which they were doing before she came along and now she's long dead and her efforts were wasted."

Mitsuki just shook her head. "Our situation could be far worse. one life traded for everyone else in the village is fair.."

"One life that's your damn son.."

This caused masaru's eyes to go wide and he quickly shook his head. "She didn't mean it like that..! It's just.."

"Don't bother. Old man" the carriage came to a stop when katsuki spoke.  "and I think I got your shitty point.. besides we are already here."

He opened the carriage door and didn't bother waiting for his father trying to excuse his mother's hurtful words.

"Bye." Katsuki growled out and slammed the carriage door behind him before anything else could be said and you would think their parting would be more emotional or that katsuki would try to have a heartfelt goodbye with them but to the ash blonde there was no point. They would just be trying to convince him how important it was him being chosen to be a vampire's meal.

The coachman was already off not giving his parents a chance to even try and get out to talk to their son.

Bakugo watched as the carriage came out of view and took a moment to look around at his surroundings.

He was in the Forest and the sun was already setting. "What the hell.." He muttered.

The boy in red understood why the coachman just rode off immediately as no humans came into the Forest but he didn't understand why he wasn't dropped off in front of the castle because Katsuki had not a damn clue where he was.

He looked around some more before he began to walk straight ahead.

It was mostly quiet besides the wind beginning to blow a little and this cloak Bakugo was wearing wasn't keeping him that warm as he soon found himself hugging himself to try and keep himself warm though  he kept going only to stop when he came across a clearing covered by snow.

Katsuki's eyes darted around before he began to walk straight ahead again with no destination in mind for the moment though it seemed he didn't notice that he was on ice and that it was starting to crack.

"They really couldn't put me In front of the c-"  everything happened so fast as the next thing the young man knew was that he was swallowed up by the ice cold water when the ice suddenly broke beneath him.

The young man struggled to swim back to the surface and the cold water was no help and before Katsuki knew it everything went black and it was getting a little hard to breathe.

He lost consciousness.
