Nightmare woke, feeling restless, and pissed off, but he knew he'd need to calm down to talk to Ink. Something had to be wrong with Dream. Nightmare knew he was a bad person but he didn't expect this. He was never a good friend, or brother, letting those he loved get hurt, but him being the one harming others for selfish reasons?
Nightmare sighed as he forced himself to get up and get ready to talk to Ink.
He walked out of his room and to Inks door, knocking lightly. "Come in?" Nightmare walked in, greeting Ink. "Morning Ink.." Nightmare closed the door behind him, though he stood a bit away from it as to not make Ink feel traped.
"Morning Nightmare.. thank you.." Ink greeted, looking away.
"May I ask you about what has been happening.. with Dream.." Night asked, getting straight to the point. "Yes.." Ink agrees, not making eye contact with the goop covered skeleton. "How long has this been happening..?" Nightmare asks, staying still awaiting his answer. "Not to long ago.. Dream had asked me to go to Outertale with him.. and begged me to be with him.." Ink explained, tears he didn't yet notice had formed in his sockets. He soon continued. "But after a week, he dragged me to his room..and.." Ink choked on the words he was trying to say, the tears making themselves know by falling down his cheekbones. "You don't have to go into detail..just.. what happened to make him like this?.." Nightmare asked, trying to understand fully. "I-I don't know.. I can't remember.. I'm sorry.." Inks tears kept falling. He hadn't understood why he apologized but he couldn't take it back now.
Nightmare looked apologetically at the protecter, even though he was most upset with Dream, he knew he'd have to deal with him later. "It's ok.. it's gonna be ok.." Nightmare soon sat next to Ink, being close yet not touching him. Ink cryed, the vials didnt aid him in this situation as he wanted to tell Nightmare but felt too overwhelmed to.
Ink leaned on Nightmare's shoulder, wanting some sort of comfort, as he remembered those nights with Dream. He missed the old Dream, the Dream that cared for others, that protected each other, his best friend. But he felt hopeless. He had tried to talk to him multiple times but it always ended horribly.
"He won't hurt you ever again.." Nightmare promised, planning on telling the others so they would look out for the positivity guardian.
