When was the last time I felt this happy?
i don't remember. and it doesn't matter because....
Holy heck! i have passed the AIIMS exam. I squealed out loud and my parents were right beside my side hugging and congratulating me for my success.
the pride was shining in their eyes.
I sighed with contentment and relief. I finally did it!
Tears were threatening to be out but Nope.
Not today.
even if they are of happiness.
"So....you really passed that exam?"
My brother, Rishabh, squinted his eyes at me. As much as I wanted to fight with him, I knew that he was really happy with this fact. I know him well, after all he is my brother. As he knows how to get on my nerves, he also well knows that he loves me too much to agree to.
After this, i quickly called my best friend, Shreya.
"Pick up...pick up idiot"
she picked up the call after two rings. I sighed.
"Got hands to pick up the call?"
She hissed.
"Yah! don't shout at me. And tell me the results of your exam."
she said with curiosity and excitement.
"You are not going to believe what I'm about to tell you"
"No thanks lady. I will believe it. Now tell me"
I rolled my eyes.
"I. Have. Passed. The. Examination.!"
"what?!!!"
I'm pretty much sure that she, too, has just jumped with this news.
"what. the. heck shrishti?!"
i laughed.
"I know dude. I'm really happy right now"
"girl....i can assure you that I'm happier than you! So how was uncle and auntie's reaction?"
"Girl...they are so happy and proud of me. Like, that pride, you know, it's shining in their eyes."
i spoke with a gentle, calm and satisfied voice.
"Haha..I know. and I'm proud of you"
I smiled.
"uh-huh. Now stop this emotional game. You know that out of the two of us, you will be the first to cry. right?"
I said teasingly, trying to erase a small amount of emotional convo. she laughed.
"Yeah. of course. I mean I was the one who cried when we saw the ghost on the TV screen, during our, first and last, movietime. right?"
Now it was her turn to tease. I snorted.
After the call with her. My mom, dad, brother and I were sitting in the living room. My parents called everyone and told them this great news.
But i know these ReLaTiVeS. they are like....happy infront of you and make faces behind your back. But...who cares? I'm happy, my family is happy. what else to care about? suddenly my father's voice broke my train of thoughts.
"So...Shrishti when are you going to Delhi?"
"Actually Dad, I'm going day after tomorrow"
My family was a little shocked would be an understatement.
"what!!"
I winced and covered my ears when my brother shouted.
"Can't you keep your voice low Rishabh?!"
he shook his head. I groaned. My parents quickly put a stop to the fight which was, pretty much going to be happen in front of them.
"But shrishti...that's really too early"
My father spoke with a calm voice. I nodded and pursued my lips in a thin line. My mother sighed and stood up.
"You two" she pointed at my brother and then my father.
"she is mine and yours daughter and your sister. I f she has taken a decision, she must have thought about it. Now, don't ask questions as to 'why she is going too early', 'why isn't she staying with us for a while'. otherwise You both have to face me. got it?"
she raised a brow. they both gulped and nodded their heads simultaneously. I held back a chuckle to escape from my lips. My mom, though she doesn't say it, is the head of our family.
After dinner, I went to my room and started packing my things. My mom came inside and helped to pack. I smiled gratefully at her, she returned it with a soft one. After packing my stuff, my mom and I talked throughout the night. There were some points where we got tears too but, they were happy ones.
the next day Shreya and I met, we roamed in our locality. Though she was happy I knew that she is a little sad from my departure. How did this 1 month friendship has developed to 5 years, I think, you can guess.
"So...Miss future would be Doc Shrishti Tyagi. How are you feeling right now?"
she held a fake mic in the form of a fist infront of me, I laughed and then turned to a serious mode.
"I think I'm both nervous and happy about this fact. I will surely plan how to steal your kidney, without you knowing it, during my semesters."
I grinned evilly. she fake gasped and went a little away from me, pretending to be scared. we continued our walk when I asked her.
"So...when is your JEE advance exam is going to be held? I mean I'm pretty much sure you will pass it since you passed the JEE examination too."
she smiled.
"It's going to be after a month but I am not making any assumptions, I can only pray that I will get selected."
I nodded and put my hand around her shoulder.
"Don't worry about it too much. ok? Just have faith within you and just believe that you can do it." she chuckled and tuned around. putting a hand on her chest.
"OH. MY. GOD.! who are you and what did you do to my Shrishti?"
"huh?"
"I mean my Shrishti wasn't so smart and a motivator like Sandeep Maheshwari"
I slapped her arm for that. she winced and rubbed it while glaring at me.
we did a lot of idiotic things and went back to our own house.
After coming back, I sighed and lay on my bed, starting to think.
'Tomorrow is going to be a really big day in my life'
'Tomorrow a phase of my life will begin'
suddenly my stomach churned in anxiety.
'Am I really ready for this?'
I turned my head and saw my childhood photo, dressed in a lab coat with a fake stethoscope wound around my neck. I smiled.
'I AM ready for this'
'I knew what I was stepping into'
Then a thought came in my mind.
'Will this....new journey is going to have me get a somebody in my life..........
again?'

Let's see.
