It was late at night. Kratos, Mimir, and Atreus had gone home, (b/n) was asleep, and I was wide awake. I shifted in bed, trying to get comfortable. At times like this, I missed Freya's home. Something about it, about her, made it so easy to sleep.

"I wonder if Kratos is awake."

"Go ask him."

"(B/n)? You're awake?"

"Yeah. You move a lot when something's wrong."

I propped myself up on my elbow. "Who said anything's wrong?"

"I've known you 13 years. I know when something's wrong." I heard him get up. He came around the curtain and got in my bed. "Wanna talk about it?"

"It's nothing you would understand. Not right now, at least." He grabbed my hand. He pulled it up between us. His were cold.

"(Y/n)."

"Yeah?"

"I wanna go home."

"We are home."

"No, we're not. I miss (s/n). We haven't seen her in so long, and we didn't get to see the baby."

"You want to send her a letter?"

"Can we do that?" His voice perked up.

"We could ask Freya or maybe the dwarves.

"I want to do more than that. I want to see her."

"I suppose you want to see Father too."

"Of course not. He messed up our family. I hope he's dead." Anger filled him. I touched his forehead with mine.

"Mother told you not to wish death on him," I whispered.

"I can't help it."

"I want to see our sister and our little niece or nephew as much as you, but we don't know how long the travel is or where to even start."

"It would be worth trying."

"Maybe. We can talk about it later. You should sleep."

"You should go see Kratos. He's probably up thinking about you."

"I doubt it. It's not me he thinks about at night."

"You could still be on his mind."

"Maybe."

"I'm gonna sleep here."

"Okay." When I heard his soft snoring. I carefully got up and tucked him in. I picked up the candle by my bedside. I slipped on my shoes, wrapped a blanket around me, and went to the door. I opened it. Surprised, I saw Kratos standing a few feet away from the front, his back to me. "Kratos?" He turned around quickly.

"Did I wake you?" He asked, concerned.

"No, I was coming to see if you were up." He was silent. "Would you like to walk with me?" I asked. He nodded.

I walked the path to the lake. Kratos walked next to me. He kept his pace the same as mine. "Can't sleep?" I asked.

"No."

"Neither could I. You want to talk about it?"

"It is things I have already told you."

"Ah, I see. I've been thinking about those things as well."

"Do not let my past-"

"No, it is not bothering me or anything."

"Then what is it?"
