It was hard to believe it. I was too stunned to speak. They were both confused, but I wasn't. I wasn't confused at all. No, I was scared.

"It has always been with you, dormant. Waiting for its turn to be birthed."

Unbeknownst to me, it had been born in the dead of night, during a time when no moon, no stars, no light shined. Even I had been dimmed that night, by fear.

Kratos followed instep and looked at me.

"I do not know what to say." I mumbled.

Atreus ran in front of me. "You don't know what happened either?"

"The problem is, I do. But..."

"But?"

"It's hard to believe it's true."

"What is true?" Asked Kratos.

I shook my head. "I am light."

"Yes?"

"What is the opposite of light?"

"Dark." Atreus answered.

"He is the darkness."

"I don't understand."

"Light can not exist without darkness and vice versa. When I was reborn as the light, he was reborn as the dark."

"Reborn?"

"Recently I have been having these dreams. My past life telling me who and what I am."

"What are you?"

"In my realm, I was the god of light. Then I died and was reborn as a human but still had my healing light abilities."

"You're a god?"

"No. My last life was. I am not. I just have the powers of my past life."

Mimir (who had been extremely quiet up until now) asked, "Is he evil? I hope we do not have to kill ya brotha."

"No! He is not evil... At least right now he's just young and doesn't know he has powers. No one knew. I was already unique in having healing abilities. We aren't related to anyone with magic."

"That you know of." Added Kratos.

"Look, I know what happened was odd and unexpected, but we will pretend it didn't happen."

"That is not a good idea."

"I do not have any other choice." I sighed in frustration. As if training him wasn't hard enough, now he has powers? Goodness, it couldn't get any worse.

Me and my big mouth, we soon heard the call of a hawk.

"Freya." She transformed and stood in front of us. "She's angry." I whispered.

"Are you all out of your minds?" She yelled. "Leaving, (b/n) alone in the woods to fend for himself! He is a child, you are supposed to protect him!"

"Freya-" I tried to interrupt.

"(Y/n)! You of all people know how dangerous it is to be out here alone, unable to protect yourself. Why would you do that to him?"

"Because he needs to learn!" I yelled. She froze in place. "I had to learn, I had to defend myself alone without anyone's help before you found me!" My own frustration came out before I could reel it in.

"(Y/n)-"

"No, I have tried everything to get him to understand what is like out there and why he needs to be able to at least survive. Every day it gets harder to help him. I am not his mother!" Freya's energy calmed down as she listened to me.
