The sun was shining bright in the sky, casting a warm golden glow over the palace and the river that flowed nearby. Angad had been tasked with preparing a bath for Prince Var in the sparkling waters of the river, and he had chosen a spot where the river widened, forming a natural pool that was deep enough for the prince to soak in.
Angad had brought a large brass tub down to the river's edge, along with a bucket and some soap. He had also placed some fragrant flowers and herbs nearby, which he planned to add to the bathwater to make it even more relaxing for the prince.
As he worked, Angad couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in his duties. He had been serving the royal family for many years, and he took his responsibilities very seriously. He knew that it was his duty to ensure that Prince Var had everything he needed, and that included a relaxing and refreshing bath after the Haldi ceremony.
As he added the flowers and herbs to the tub, Angad couldn't help but glance up at the palace, wondering what was going on up there. He knew that Prince Roop was also celebrating his Haldi ceremony today, but he was focused on his own task at the moment.
Just then, he heard footsteps approaching, and he turned to see Prince Megh walking towards him.
"Good morning, Mister Angad," the young prince said with a smile. "What are you doing down here by the river?"
"I'm preparing a bath for Prince Var, Your Highness," Angad replied, bowing respectfully.
"Ah, I see," Megh said, looking intrigued. "May I watch?"
Angad hesitated for a moment, unsure if it was appropriate for the young prince to see the bathing ritual. But he knew that Megh was a curious and intelligent boy, and he couldn't resist sharing some of his knowledge.
"Of course, Your Highness," Angad said, gesturing for Megh to come closer. "But please don't disturb the water."
Megh nodded eagerly, his eyes sparkling with excitement as he watched Angad work. As the water filled the tub, Angad added the soap, lathering it up with his hands.
As the tub filled with the soapy water, Megh couldn't help but watch in amazement as Angad worked his magic. He wondered how someone could make something as simple as a bath look so elegant.
"Mister Angad," Megh called out hesitantly, catching the warrior's attention. "Could I call you by your name? I mean, we're friends, aren't we?"
Angad looked at Megh, his face calm and serious. "I'm sorry, Prince Megh, but as a soldier, it is my duty to respect and honor the boundaries of our relationship. I cannot allow myself to be too familiar with the royal family."
Megh nodded understandingly, feeling a little disappointed but also realizing the importance of respecting boundaries. "I understand, Mister Angad. You're right. We must keep our relationship professional."
Angad smiled, feeling proud of the young prince's maturity. "Exactly, Prince Megh. We must always remember our respective statures and duties."
As Megh left, Angad couldn't help but feel a sense of respect for the young prince. He was wise beyond his years and understood the importance of boundaries and responsibilities. "Goodbye, Prince Megh," he called out respectfully. "I hope you have a pleasant day."
Megh walked back to the palace, his heart heavy with a strange mix of emotions. He couldn't shake off the feeling of disappointment and sadness that had settled over him like a thick fog. Megh understood that he was a prince and Angad was a soldier, but that didn't mean they couldn't be friends, right?
He couldn't understand why Angad was being so formal with him. Was it because he was a prince? Was it because he was younger? Megh sighed and shook his head, feeling frustrated and a little hurt.
