The skies above are dark and gray,
A portent of a coming day,
When all I am will fade away,
Into the void, where shadows play.***
In the vast expanse of the cosmos, humanity seems but a minuscule blip, a fleeting moment amidst the endless march of time. Yet within this brief existence, each of us seeks meaning and purpose. For Violet, this search was fraught with difficulty. Her childhood, marked by a lack of love and attention, led Violet to take refuge in her imagination. She created worlds of wonder, filled with characters that spoke to her in ways the real world never had. In these places, she found solace and a sense of connection that eluded her in the mundane world.
But as Violet grew older, her desire for connection outside of her own mind grew stronger. She yearned for companionship and recognition, but her self-worth was sorely lacking. She could not seem to connect with others in any meaningful way, and the sense of isolation and inadequacy that resulted permeated every aspect of her life.
She searched. She tried new things, pursued new avenues, seeking that elusive sense of purpose and fulfilment. It was a difficult journey, fraught with setbacks and disappointments.
Each failure that Violet encountered felt like a crushing blow, sending her spiraling deeper into despair.

Violet inhaled deeply, filling her lungs with the fresh island air. She gazed out at the lush, verdant surroundings of the rejuvenation centre. Towering palm trees swayed in the gentle breeze, and a riot of vibrant flowers carpeted the ground beneath her feet. She turned to Mr. Sterling, who stood beside her, and posed a question that had been nagging at her since they arrived. "How did you learn about this place?"
The enigmatic gentleman grinned enigmatically. "Let's just say that I have my sources," he replied cryptically. "This is a haven for those seeking to heal, to rediscover themselves."
Violet couldn't help but be intrigued by the man's mysterious background. "Do you come here often?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Whenever I need to recharge my batteries, so to speak," he said with a smile. "This place has a way of renewing not just the body, but the mind and the soul."
The young woman couldn't agree more. She felt her cares and worries slip away, replaced by a sense of calm and tranquillity. The rejuvenation centre seemed to have a magical quality to it, like it was capable of healing all that failed her.
After a while, they went their separate paths.
Violet's senses were overwhelmed as she made her way through the island, her eyes taking in the lush greenery and colourful blooms that stretched as far as the eye could see. The air was thick with the sweet scent of flowers, and the soft notes of music drifted towards her ears, filling her with a sense of tranquility she had never experienced before.
The sun was shining down upon her, casting a warm glow across the landscape, and a gentle breeze brushed past her face, carrying with it the delicate rustling of leaves. She felt the cool grass beneath her feet, and the soft earthy scent that emanated from it. It was as if she had stepped into a magical world, a place where time stood still and the worries of the outside world melted away.
As she walked towards the shuttle that awaited her, a friendly staff member greeted her with a warm smile, beckoning her to climb aboard. The sleek and futuristic vehicle gleamed in the sunlight, its polished exterior reflecting the surrounding beauty of the island.
As she settled into her seat, Violet couldn't help but marvel at the view from the window. The lush landscape that surrounded her seemed to stretch on endlessly, the vibrant colors and intricate details of each flower and plant standing out in sharp contrast against the backdrop of the clear blue sky.
