Harry's Pov•
I begin to grow frustrated as neither Indigo nor Liam had returned from their 'short' trips. It has been two hours since Indy was in here to see me, and in that time I still haven't heard a word from Liam or my bail money.
At the rate this is going, I'll be stuck in this revolting cell all night with a sack of cardboard as my pillow. Not ideal.
The robbery didn't go as planned. Once we arrived at the bank, all ten of us made our way into the small building. Luke and Travis stood on guard while Zayn and Rod destroyed all the security cameras. I pulled my gun out and threatened everybody in the shop that if they moved I would shoot. Nobody moved.
I guarded the few people in the bank, including employees, while the rest of my gang did their separate jobs. We had them held hostage for a good fifteen minutes until the boys had all of the money they could handle, which was a lot. It's a shame we couldn't keep it.
Just as we were all exiting the bank, two police cars pulled up and many officers piled from them and aimed their guns at us. All the boys fled, everyone except Zayn, Luke and I. Unfortunately, when they fled, the bastards dropped the money and left it in plain view.
They're all a bunch of idiots, really. The reason the three of us boys didn't run was because we wanted to give them an opportunity to run with the money so we could at least keep some. So basically, we got arrested for no reason.
Luke's brother had paid his bail about an hour ago. He left, promising Zayn that he would look after the tattoo shop if he wasn't out in time for open in the morning. Zayn replied with a nod.
Zayn still hasn't been bailed out either, as of now. He made a call to one of his old mates to bring in the money but unfortunately he was in another town so couldn't make it. Basically, Zayn is relying on me to bail him out once I'm bailed out.
"Y'know, ignoring me won't get you out of that cell mate." Zayn said in a harsh tone. He's right though, I have been ignoring him. He could have completely blown my cover with Indy and didn't even care.
"Fuck off." I replied as I sat back down on my poor excuse of a bed. Looking around the room brang back many unwanted memories of the countless nights I had spent in cells like this - all of which Liam bailed me out for. Where the fuck is he?
"No, Harry. I did you a favour!"
"How the hell was almost blowing my cover a favour!" I yelled, my eyes glaring with anger. At this point I didn't care that he was my gang leader, regardless of his position I wanted to bash the hell out of him.
Zayn was cut from replying as the large iron door was unlocked and swung open. A tall officer stormed in, his large legs taking long strides until he reached my cell. It wasn't until I looked at his name badge that I realised who this cop was.
Byron Moore.
Indigos father. Fucking great.
The guy already seemed to hate me before for just taking his daughter out for one night, but now... I'm completely and utterly fucked.
"Harry." He accusingly greeted, eyeing me harshly. "We need to talk."
"I-" I started, but was shooshed by Byron. "No. Listen here, kid. You are never to see Indigo again, you hear me? Don't contact her, don't look at her, don't think about her. She doesn't need another failure like you in her life and will never be seeing you again. Ever. Got it?"
"Uh, I'm sorry sir. Got it." I shakily replied, being nervous for once in my life. There is no way I'm stopping seeing Indigo now, I've come so far and if I don't hand her to Louis soon he will come after me.
"Sorry to interrupt, but Harry wasn't part of that robbery, sir. I called him for a lift but he had no clue my intentions were to rob the bank. I take full responsibility for it sir and I assure you that Harry had nothing to do with it." Zayn formally said, surprising me. Byron looked confused and thought for a minute before speaking. "Is this true, Harry?"
"Yes sir."
"Good, well..No. Even if you had nothing to do with this robbery your file has records of many other committed crimes proving to me that you are in fact the guy I assumed you to be."
"I can explain!" I said, knowing that if I wanted to keep Indy I would have to persuade him right now. "I do admit to doing those other crimes on my file sir, and I promise you that I am filled with regret for every single one of them. But you have to understand that those happened over a year ago and I have changed a lot since then. I was going through a tough time as," I stopped and pretended to wipe a tear away, "as my father passed away and I had no idea what to do with myself. So I guess I turned to crime, which I fully understand was the wrong decision."
"Indigo was the reason I stopped committing those crimes. Sure, we haven't known eachother too long but ever since I met her I've felt a need to be a better person, for myself and for her. I am doing everything in my ability to protect her and to keep myself out of trouble so I can be there for her.. But I guess what you said is true. I am a failure and I most certainly do not deserve your daughter."
Byron sighed and shook his head. I do tend to be persuasive sometimes, if I say so myself. "I can't believe I'm doing this, but fine. You have my permission to keep seeing my daughter but I want to be notified before every single time you take her out. I'll give you my number so if anything happens when you're with her I will be the first person you call. None of this funny business or I will take her from you completely, do you understand?"
"Yes, sir. I cannot thankyou enough, really."
"Just stay good to her. Anyway, who's bailing you out?"
"Liam Payne, he's a family friend."
"Oh of course, he's been in the waiting room for over an hour now! I'll give him the paperwork then you're free to go. And how about you, Zayn Malik?"
"I have somebody coming in the morning." Zayn replied.
"Fair enough. I'll be back to retrieve you when you're ready to come out, Harry." Byron said as he made his way to the exit.
"Oh," he turned around to face me, "Indigo is asleep in my office. When you leave it would be great if you could take her home." He shut the door behind him and left me alone with Zayn to think about everything that had just happened.
Man, I thought it would take a fair bit more than that to convince him of my sob story. You'd think that being a cop and all it would be harder to persuade him to believe my lies. Ha, sucker.
Half an hour later, the iron doors opened again and Byron entered with a grumpy Liam trailing behind him. I have no doubt that on the way home I'm going to get a massive lecture about staying safe and all that bullshit.
Byron unlocks my cell and let's me out, saying nothing but giving me a small pat on the back. Liam leads me to a small office where I see Indigo sleeping on the floor. She looked peaceful, I had never seen her so calm before. I can't believe I'm saying this but she looked.. angelic.
I quietly walked over to her so I wouldn't wake her up and wrapped my oversized jumper around her tiny body. As carefully as I could, I picked her up and carried her to Liam's car that was in the front of the small parking lot.
Liam didn't say a word to me until we were on the road.
"I can't believe you."
"Shut up, Liam." I said, agitated.
"Fine, no lecture. But you need to be more careful." He sighed.
I rolled my eyes and glanced behind me at Indigo, who was still fast asleep on the back seat. "Do you think she'll hate me?"
"Who, Indy?"
I nodded.
"I hope that she does, Harry. She doesn't deserve to be caught up in this bullshit mess."
And for the first time in my life, I agreed with what Liam said.
