"You can't sneak up on people like that" Kit blew out a breath lowering her gun.
"The hells a pregnant lady doin way out here? You ain't very smart are you brainiac. good way to get yourself killed." Daryl sassed back slinging his crossbow over his shoulder
Kit let out a sharp chuckle as she applied pressure to a sharp pain forming in her abdomen. "God I missed your stupid mouth Dixon"
"Do i know you lady?" He asked suspiciously eyeing her as she began leaning on the tree.
"Only in my dreams i guess." Kit replied before groaning her face scrunching up as the pain radiated through her body in shocks. And for a moment her vision changed with flashes of another room, an office possibly with skeletons dangling from the ceiling with empty IV bags attached to them. A moment later a bald tattooed man appeared inches from her face cooing her back to sleep as he stroked her cheek. His eyes a blinding blue.
"Kit?" She jumped away from the sound as her vision reappeared only now to be faced with Rick.
"Thank god I found you" Rick smiled moving closer to her as she took a step back holding her hand out signaling for him to stop.
"You okay? look Shane's really worried about you after what happened." he said, moving his hands to his hips.
Kit chuckled running a hand down her face "I don't have a single clue rick. it feels like I'm getting mind fucked right now."
"Is the baby okay then?"
"The-" she looked down at her overly large belly "Rick I don't even remember getting pregnant much less what this thing is."
"Boy. your having a boy."
"A boy" kit whispered to herself with a small smile, her hands running along the bump as her heart throbbed and melted at the same time.
"Look kitty cat can I at least take you to your dads house he's been pretty worried too."
Kit's head snapped back to his "My dad?" she asked confused. her dad was dead, cancer had taken him years ago.
Ricks face scrunched up as he chuckled a little bit "Yes your dad. what? did you think Shane wasn't gonna call him?"
"I-I" she shook her head sucking in a breath "I wanna go home." she finally breathed out.
"Come on then" rick said taking her hand and leading her to his cop car.
The drive didn't seem to take long as kit zoned out for most of it as she tried to make sense of her life. she snapped back to reality though when the car began to slow to a stop in front of a familiar white house, and right on the front porch waiting was her dad.
Kit hopped out of the car before rick could even properly put it in park or faster than a heavily pregnant woman should be able to. "Woah girl, you're gonna get my grandbaby hurt." her dad scolded walking down the steps to her.
"Dad?" kit whispered again as her own steps slowed as they came within a foot of each other. Everything was the same just as she remembered him. the dark hair with gray streaks on the sides combed back, his full salt and peppered beard, the bright hazel eyes surrounded by crows feet wrinkles from years of laughter.
"Sweetheart you alright you look like you've seen a ghost?" he asked, a small frown forming on his lips.
Kit lunged forward wrapping her arms around him as she began to cry uncontrollably "I just missed you" you stuttered out.
His arms wrapped around her, stroking the back of her head "Oh little raven you really are just having a bad day aren't you" he cooed "Come on let's get you inside." he whispered kissing the side of her head as he waved at rick as a sign of thanks for bringing her home.
Kit spent the whole night just absorbing everything like it was the last time. she didn't even care that the first hour he scolded her for her behavior because even then it was the happiest, she had been in a long time. But not all dreams are meant to be a reality and not all happiness lasts.
Kit was no exception to this as she sucked in a pained breath, the office coming back into view along with dean's face, his eyes bringing with tears as he clung to her. "Oh thank god" he rasped.
"Dean?" her voice croaking from dehydration.
"I got ya you're okay." he whispered brushing her dirty messy hair back.
"What?" she tried asking, trying really to just get her body to cooperate, but it all felt like lead and she was just so tired.
"witch man here got ya." merle spoke up from his spot of the other side of the room, he added an unneeded kick to a heavily tattooed dead man on the ground.
"Djinn." dean corrected bending down and picking Kit up.
"Yeah yeah its all the same, some freak drinkin your blood." Merle scoffed waving his knife hand in the air.
"I'll explain later." Dean sighed when he saw her weak confused face as her head started to lull again. Kit's already ice cold burning eyes slammed shut when the sun blared down on her face when dean stepped outside. Kit could faintly make out the squeak of door before her body was slid onto a leather seat. her weakened state no longer being able to hold on as a familiar safety surrounded her, despite deans' pleas for her to stay awake.
It was days later when kit woke up again, dean right by her side ready to unload his family secrets and answer her questions.
"So, one more time" she pauses taking another drink of her water before setting on the bedside table. "I was kidnapped by some Muslim type god thing that put me in a dream that was really wish as he drained my blood to feed himself."
"Yeah, that's um pretty much it." dean chuckled trying to liven the mood.
"How do you kill something like that?"
"Silver knife dipped in lambs' blood." dean answered.
Kit didn't let her face show how freaky nonchalant of an answer that was. "And you do this all the time? this djinn stuff?"
"No there's more lots more, vampires' werewolves, shape shifters, demons, angels, but those guys are some seriously self-righteous assholes." dean chuckled as his he remembers something.
Kit watched him for a moment with pursed lips. "And your pentagram tattoo? do you like worship the devil then?"
"Hell no that guy is-" he cleared his throat " A douche. he's a douche. and it's a tattoo for protection, fights off possession."
Kit hummed looking down at her fingers as the fiddled with each other. it was a lot to take in and yet dean had been dealing with it his whole life. Personally, she would have preferred to live in ignorance again. "I didn't want to leave" she quietly admitted, her eyes welling with tears. "My um dad died years ago and i just-" she sniffled as tears ran freely.
dean sat forward grabbing her hands "I get it. none of its real but I didn't want to leave when it happened to me too. I wanted to stay so bad cause I could think about was how much this job cost me and my family. I-" he shook his head, biting his lip.
Kits hand squeezed his "Thank you dean." she whispered before leaning forward and kissing his forehead.
