Kit sat with her legs crossed in the driver's seat of baby; Dean's 67' Chevy Impala; reading his worn journal that had clearly been thru some stuff. Not even the classic tunes of Norman Greenbaum playing in the background could deter her from grimacing at some of the monsters she read. Her eyes would continually flick between Jody who was practicing some knife skills dean had shown him and then to the man himself as he wiped sweat of his face. It really was a delicious view. "Doesn't look like you're reading." dean smirking as he caught her. again.
"I am." she defended turning her head back towards Jody.
"sure" he hummed moving to stand next her taking a drink of her water. "If I didn't know any better i would think you rather like watching me."
"It's an ok view" she shrugged dismissively. Dean chuckled.
"Aim for the face kid, go thru the skull your knifes a goner." merle advised Jody as he approached the two adults.
"Merle" dean and Kit greeted the one-man arm-y.
"You might as well adopt?" he replied nodding his head over to Jody.
"Maybe I will not that it's any concern of yours." Kit scowled standing up.
"How can we help you?" dean cleared his throat trying to diffuse yet another petty argument, he was sure.
"The arena and jams tonight you comin'?"
"Wouldn't miss you bludgeoning chained up walkers for the world." kit smiled sarcastically.
Merle shifted and squinted at her "yes we'll be there." Jody cheered inviting himself into the conversation, sliding his knife into his holster. "Do you think they have cotton eyed joe? everyone's been putting in requests already."
Merle eyed the boy for a moment as he felt Kit's glare burning into the side of his face. "I'm sure they do kid." He said simply forcing a smile instead of what he really wanted to say. He just got the stitch taken out from the last time he made a racist comment Infront of the kid while Kit was present. For the life of him he couldn't understand how his baby brother handled the woman much less how she considered him a friend.
"Well, it'll be fun either way." dean cheered.
"Your only excited about the pie." Jody laughed.
"Thats the best part kid, love me some pie." he childishly smiled slapping the roof of baby.
Merle's eyes stayed locked with kits childish judgy look still lock on him. "vermin" he spit at her.
"I think I'm rather adorable." she puckered her lips smugly.
Dean and Jody both sighed internally.
~Time skip~
Kit sat on the edge of the stands next to dean as he shoveled pie into his mouth a minuscule at time as they watched merle kill chained up walkers. it was like watching the usually staged WWE to Kit. Where was the excitement with them chained up? let them go then the real fun would start. and with her luck the Karen on the second floor of her building just might be a casualty. But no, she was here for Jody as she usually did as of late. maybe merle was right maybe she should just adopt the kid. would she even make a good mother?
I mean she's raised carl most of his childhood it can't be that different, can it?
Kit rolled her eyes as merle threw his hands in the air as if he was some sort of victorious gladiator who just faced the toughest of opponents. "For fu-" she choked on her words as apple pie was shoved into her mouth causing her to choke a little.
"Lighten up." dean shrugged as he continued eating ignoring her coughs.
Kit glared at him before getting up and moving passed at the dancing bodies off on the sidelines to Jody who was fidgeting with a bottle as he watched everyone else dance. "What are you doing? The whole point of coming was for you to dance?" she asked waving her hand at the uncontrolled noodles behind her.
"They haven't played cotton eyed joe. I put in a request. maybe they just have way too many." the boy shrugged with a pout.
"Fuck that." kit cursed under her breath pulling Jody up and leaving him on the sidelines of the crowd as she approached the 'Dj'. They had already been there for two hours, that was plenty of time to go thru an entire so called list.
"Hey, jack my kid asked you to play cotton eyed joe" She played nice addressing the middle-aged man.
He briefly looked up from his station at her kid then at her " Yeah but you know I got a whole lot to play given." he smiled smugly, even winking.
Kit ripped the headphones off his head "Oh yeah really? Play the fucking cotton eyed joe!" she shouted before pointing at Jody " He's the Dj got it?" the wide-eyed man nodded "Alright good" kit winked before pulling Jody to center of the crowd with her as the song blasted thru the speakers and over zealously danced to the Rythm with the boy as he laughed hopping along to the beat.
"You can't keep bulling the citizens" Philip shouted over the music humorously as he moved next to her in the dancing line.
"You can punish me later for it." she shrugged unbothered, as she moved two finger from her eyeballs and the Dj in an aggressive manner before moving to a cocky like chicken wings, maintaining eye contact the whole time. The governors laugh only egging her on.

Shorter than usual I know but I plan on making a big time jump for my own sanity as this whole beginning has drained my inspiration. I'll come back and make fillers later of course but as of right now I need to skip them..
