Chapter 27: Backbone

"Y/N!"

"Come here!!"

Y/N runs to the little guy. They are both at the same height but the guy is a little bit taller.

"Prince! You've come to save me!" Little Y/N exclaimed as she hugged the boy.

"My princess, I've finally reached you. How have you been doing, Princess?" The prince asked Y/N as they snuggled with each other.

"I've been waiting for you, I was saddened that I couldn't see you my prince." Y/N said as the prince brings Y/N closer.

"Oh, my apologies! Grandfather was busy with work, you know... The usual. I thought of helping him and, of course, also helped him with some of the works so that's why I get to see your beautiful face again." The Prince squeezes Y/N's cheek.

Y/N brings both of their hands up and cups the hands of the boy as they look at each other.

"That's very thoughtful of you! I'm still upset that you couldn't visit me, but, I understand." The wind blows gently as it brings both small children's hair with it.

"I like it when I get to be with you again... The peace and comfort I get from you."

"Me too, My princess. Me too..."

They hold each other's hand as the occasional wind picks up and brushes against their skin.

*Snap!*

"Hey!" Y/N exclaimed as they both got up and ran towards the sound.

"You can't take a picture of us without permission like that!!" The little prince exclaimed as the person started giggling and laughing as they ran.

"Youth!!! I'll get you back!" The children stop at the feet of a figure. Much taller than they are, but all they did was took the camera and picture away.

"Aww... My picture..." The child that got their picture and camera confiscated said sadly yet adorably.

The figure tuck the picture inside their pocket as they bow down to the height of Youth.

They whisper to youth's ear as the youth's soot puffs out.

"Okay!!" The youth said happily as they got their camera back.

"What did you say?" Y/N asked but got no answer except a few pats on the head.

A puff of soot exploded as the child jumped around while giggling and laughing too just like Youth.

"No fair! What about me?!" The prince said. The figure gives him some pats too as he happily accepts it and soot comes out of his hands. (Weird)

"Yay!!" The children all yelled as they went back to being the children they are.

"Edward..."

"What?"

"Are you sure? I mean... The princess did tell you to return the children back to their wing. I don't think we should get in more trouble than we already have." Aileen said looking Edward. She knows that there's no point in trying to convince Edward, but at least she tried something.

"Kate! Take Emilico and go!" John said.

"What about Y/N?! Where is their living doll?!" Kate asked.

"I couldn't find her either but she should be safe!" John exclaimed but Kate looked worried.
