Arabella...

I don't think I've ever been so clean to the point where there was no hair on my body. I mean I do look after myself and make myself look presentable but I was so nervous and desperate to look my utter most best for my date. My date! I have a date! With a gorgeous, sweet gentleman who's the singer and guitarist of a band! I've shaved my legs, arms, plucked my eyebrows (which hurt like a bitch) and even did my hair. I'm in the middle of doing my eyeliner what needs my entire concentration (eyeliner needs to be given respect) when suddenly I start to panic. What if he thinks I'm weird? What if he's an open-mouth chewer? I can't stand noisy eaters! What if he never turns up and I'm left on my own doorstep? Okay I need to calm down, deep breaths Eve. I apply the final coat of mascara and look at the girl who's sat in front of me. I don't recognise her. The girl I'm used to doesn't wear eyeliner or lipstick or a push-up bra. And who invented thongs? The most uncomfortable underwear I've possibly ever wore. Never again. I pull a skimpy dress over my head, tugging it over my breasts, grab a few pieces of jewellery and put on a pair of heels Emily told me to wear. She's the only one I've told about tonight but I made sure to leave out who I'm actually meeting. The dress has got a dark Galaxy print on it and the shoes are the highest I've ever worn. I do my hair like something from the 70's and I think I look presentable. I sit downstairs watching TV sipping a dandelion and burdock and wait for my date.

It's 6 o'clock exactly when the door rings and I stumble when rushing to the door. I open the door to Alex wearing a suit with his hair gelled and the quiff what I adore. He looks like a prince in black. And then I notice how he's looking at me; with his mouth open and eyes wide in disbelief. He whispers, "Arabella," to himself and I try to figure out what the hell that means.

"Pardon?" I ask.

"Nothing, it's just that... You look like you're made of out of space... You're beautiful."
I blush and say, "Thank you. You look amazing". And with that, we left the house hand in hand.
