From that day onwards, Cyclone continued to meet the Winter fairy at the borders every night, and even though the Winter fairy still didn't feel up to talking, Cyclone filled in the silence for him with the stories of the Summer border and the goings-on of the Spring-coming prep.  Whilst that though, he managed to sneak in a few glances at the fairy when he wasn't looking every time.

Cyclone has definitely confirmed multiple times that this fairy was absolutely beautiful, from head to toe, the colours were foreign but mesmerizing to him. The fairy's white hair almost blended in with the snowy environment, and his skin was the fairest Cyclone had ever seen. However, the Wind fairy always had one question that he feared would never be answered.

Why doesn't the fairy use his wings?

Cyclone sighed, "I mean, he IS a fairy, isn't he? Then doesn't that mean that he should be able to use his wings like every other fairy?" Unfortunately, no one was there to answer his question. After all, it was way past midnight. He had just returned to his home from meeting with the fairy again, and that meant another session of his questions going unanswered.

"Every time I ask him about it, he doesn't answer me... Not like he ever responds to me anyway," Cyclone pouted. Then, his mind suddenly drifted. "He's very pretty though..."

Cyclone realized seconds later what he was thinking about, and quickly forced himself to forget about it. "What the- what am I thinking?!" Trying desperately to get rid of the redness on his cheeks, his eyes noticed a pile of acorns and leaves near his door. "AH! I've been so busy that I completely forgot to give him the acorns I said I would give him the other day! Oh man, it's been a whole week by now..."

The Wind fairy slumped into his bed, "He's gonna be so mad, I bet he's been super excited to see them too..." While he was sulking in his lonesome, Cyclone thought of an idea that made his wings perk back up. "I know! I can give him one extra thing as compensation."

Jumping out of his bed, he started rummaging through his cupboards and drawers for something decent that he could give the fairy. "Aha!" he exclaimed as he pulled out a paper pin from his stash of lost things. "I'll give him one of my lost things, he'll forgive me for sure."

Cyclone then put the paper pin in with the piles of acorns and leaves next to his door. Finally feeling the exhaustion after a whole day's work, Cyclone's eyes started to close by themselves and he drifted into a comfortable sleep with a lingering thought of the Winter fairy in his mind.

.............

"Here's the acorns I said I'd bring the other day, and some of these leaves too. Sorry it took me so long to bring these, I hope you'll forgive me!"

The two fairies met again the next night, and the Winter fairy was surprised to see Cyclone with a bunch of things that he could barely handle. "Oh, oh! And I wanted to show you this too, it's called tree sap."

Cyclone had kept his own word and brought everything he'd promised the first day they met. In an excited fit, he started piling them onto the Winter fairy.

The Winter fairy looked rightfully confused and overwhelmed by everything Cyclone was giving him. He'd accepted the acorns and unusually coloured leaves but was hesitant when he saw the tree sap.

"Come on, it's fine! See, I'm holding it," Cyclone said. After giving his hands a little shake with the sap rippling in his grasps, he put his hands forward for the Winter fairy.

The fairy was still feeling a little indifferent, but somehow, he knew that it wouldn't do him any harm. He put his hands forward and let Cyclone pour the sap into them, but in a moment's notice, the amber coloured liquid had already turned to ice.
